Have you been here? Highly recommend a visit to get your 1/4s and mixups.

You just can't beat a proper traditional sweets shop with loose sweets in jars.

Some people get excited about shoes, or motorbikes or golf but a proper sweet shop like Old Time Favourites is my happy place.

Always keeping within the ethos of using only natural flavours and natural colours, and mindful of those who are a little indecisive, I've been developing a new all natural colourless and flavourless variety which I'm calling 'sugar sweets'

Just getting packaging sorted now and it'll be in the online shop later this week.

All the lovely sweetness and texture without the fruity flavour!

Time to get out my Great Granny's Griddle, whip up a batch of buttermilk pancakes and feed the hordes.

It's really just an excuse to eat Traditional Yellowman brown up into wee chips, mixed with butter and lemon zest and rolled into a log and left to firm until it's sliceable.

Flippin' delicious!

Celebrating

It's World Ukulele Day 2026,🎶 a day for celebrating this wonderful, happy little instrument that brings a smile to everyone's face. I'm part of 3 ukulele groups and you'll not meet anyone rude or grumpy there because ukuleles seem to bring out the joy and happiness in people.

When I play the ukulele I'm in my happy place, the stresses and strains of the day melt away and I have no cares or worries.

Do you play an instrument? If it's a ukulele, let's spread the happiness 😊 together.

I'd encourage anyone to go along to a local ukulele group, they're popping up everywhere, and just join in. If you can't play yet, just sing!
