Breaking up the feed with some pics my youngest (8 years old) son took, partially to wind me up. 😆 (there were about 200 on my camera roll 🙃 )

We’ve had a lot of new followers as a result of my post from earlier in the week, so hi! 👋 I’m Charlie. I DID not expect the post to go as crazy as it did! 😆

Over 7 years into having my own business. So many ups and downs. Customers we've shared so much with. The chats, some tears, and lots of laughs. It’s bloody hard work. But I’m not sure I'd have it any other way. When something fails I come back to the saying: “Congratulations on your failure - most people don’t even try”.

This is a message to the man who came in yesterday and declared how "disgusting" it was for us to have period products on display. Anyone else feel free to scroll on by...

Guess what- you are a product of ovulation! It's a normal bodily function. If those of us who have periods can help the world be a bit less wasteful with it, we will. Having these reusable pads on display normalises them and we loved the way Char had arranged them. ❤️

Our shop sells a huge range of planet friendly, sustainable items from other small businesses.
Some of these businesses are women owned (like the one who produced these pads). We have room for lots of lovely things. But we don't have room for sexism, racism, transphobia or any other kind of prejudice.

For your next visit, l've got a handy method to avoid what offends you - check it out on the third slide.
Hopefully you'll provide an apology to our team member who found your rude comments quite upsetting; which you seemed to take pride in?

Small businesses are literally fighting for survival at the moment. 😔 If something offends you by being on sale publicly; send an email to a large chain and expect an AI response to it.

WORLD REFILL DAY!

I'll let the pics do the talking, but what could you pledge to refill this week? Now's the perfect time to see what containers you've got hanging around (or fish them out of your recycling bin? 😆 ) and decide to bring them in this weekend.

Since my post about peanut butter the other day you've all gone CRAZY for it! We've been refilling the machine almost every day. 🤩

It's as easy as...

1. Bring a jar
2. Weigh the jar empty
3. Let the machine do it's magic 🥜 💫
4. Reweigh and pay
5. Marvel at how good it is
6. Eat and repeat!

It's Friday favourites again! And this time our lovely Matt has picked his Top 3! Matt is one of the friendliest people you could hope to meet. Always greeting customers with a smile and kind words. Behind the scenes he's always keen to help me too, lucky me!

"My Top 3 are:

1. ☕️ Monsoon Firedancer Coffee- I love my coffee and can't find a better tasting one! It's roasted locally and we receive it at the store in metal barrels freshly roasted. Always super fresh and no packaging at all!

2. 🫘 Godiva and Olivia Beans- they go amazingly in so many recipes and it's a brilliant idea to sustainably grow beans in the UK climate (we are the only shop that sells them!). Check out URBeans and Wardy's Waffle to see how they are being grown.

3. 🌾 Charlecote Mill Flour- This stoneground flour is milled in our local water mill using grain harvested within a 3 mile radius; and I don't think you can beat warm homemade bread. Yummy!"

Bring a jar or tub from home, or borrow one of ours. 🫙 100% rich and dark roasted nuts make it the best peanut butter around, and we source them via another small business. 🍓 It’s almost Strawberry season! And if you want them to last as long as possible, give them a rinse and store them in a clean, airtight glass jar. 🫙

I’ve had berries and most salad veggies (like tomatoes) last for a week by storing them this way!

And it looks so good in the fridge too. Anything which helps you clearly see what you’ve got is a win in the fight against food waste. ✅ If you don’t want to use jars, we’ve got a range of amazing silicone food storage bags (also know as fridge handbags 👜 😝 ) that do an excellent job.
