This week’s special has just come out of the oven looking delicious.
Mexican charred honey, lime and chipotle chicken, slow cooked then finished on the grill.

You’ve got the seasoned egg folded rice or the ciabatta, two salsas, smooth and that chunky tequila one, and a jalapeño lime mayo.

Yesterday was bloody rammed.
So, while stocks last.

Yesterday, me and Zoe sat down for our Best New Business interview. ❤️

And it was actually quite strange trying to squeeze the last year into one conversation or describe it in 8 minutes.

Because G&TeaTime has never just been about opening another café.

It’s been about trying to build something we believe Leigh needs. Somewhere independent. Somewhere people know the faces behind it. Somewhere that adds something to our town rather than simply existing in it.

From The Gindependent, to Café Stella, to to creating G&TeaTime, we’ve always believed there’s still a place for proper independent hospitality in Leigh.

There have been brilliant days and some incredibly difficult ones. We’ve made mistakes, learned as we’ve gone, changed things, worried about bills, worked ridiculous hours and probably driven each other mad more than once 😂

But we’re still here. Still investing. Still trying new things. Still believing in the town.

Yesterday we got the chance to tell that story.

Not just what G&TeaTime is now, but what we want it to become and why we’re doing all of this in the first place.

For our family. For our kids. For the people who work with us. And hopefully, in our own little way, for the future of Leigh town centre.

Whatever happens at the awards, being first nominated and then shortlisted for Best New Business after our first year means a lot to us.

And if you’ve bought a brew, eaten a sandwich, come to a comedy night, shared one of our posts, recommended us to somebody or simply walked through our door…

you’ve been part of it. ❤️

Just Chicken
One of our simpler menu items, but honestly, it’s beautiful. Chicken cooked gently first, chilled down properly, then finished on the grill to order for those charred edges and juicy middle. Served on toasted ciabatta, baked fresh in Manchester, delivered to us every morning, with plenty of salted butter. No fuss, no messing, just really good chicken.

We all have at least one Just Chicken friend. Ours is our friend Kate.

Tag your mate who’d order this 🙌 and tag a mate who’d ask for more butter, like Pam, my mother-in-law ❤️.
