Happy October everyone.
It’s that time of year where the nights are drawing in and we start to think about all those cosy evenings by the fire. I just love it.
Also time to start thinking about some new crafty projects to keep us busy through the next few months.
And if you haven’t started making all the Christmas projects yet, come on ! What are you waiting for?

We’ve had another fun day in the classroom today. Karen was showing the ladies how to make the Strawberry Gnome which is one of ‘Helen Newton Sews’ patterns.
As you can see we had some slight variations on the original design as some of the ladies went slightly off piste 😂😂.
Not quite enough time in the class to finish so some have gone home to finish making the strawberry hat.

Hi, I have had such a lovely day out today at the yarn festival at Newark Show Ground.
It was a really good show with lots of really interesting vendors. There were some fabulous hand dyed yarns just begging to come home with me but I managed to rein myself in and not go mad.
I’m very excited to try out the Make It Perlchen and the Make It Blumchen from Rico. I’ve seen lots on instagram posts and YouTube vloggers using it held double with various other yarns and it looks so pretty so we’ll see how I get on (didn’t realise when choosing that the colours would match my sofa so well😂😂).

Time to start thinking about all those projects you’re going to make for Christmas.

We have had a super relaxing day in the classroom today and for once it did not involve sewing, patchwork or quilting……or indeed anything to do with fabric!
We decided we were going to have a ‘yarn day’ for a change and we have made these fabulous crochet baskets.
We also had a yarn related ‘Show n Tell’ where everyone brought items that they had knitted or crocheted. Oh my word I so wish I had taken some photographs of these items to show you.
Who ever knew we had so many skills and talents between us.

I do always like to credit the designer for a pattern so If anyone fancies having a go at a crochet basket we used a pattern purchased from Cotton Pod. Sorry but I can’t remember the name of the pattern. I’m sure you will be able to find it on their website.

Ooh it’s all about Tilda in the shop at the moment.
Last week we took delivery of the full collection of Brie Basics. This week we have received the full collection of Poppy Seed Basics and if that’s not enough we also have some Fat Eighth Stacks of the Chambray fabric.
They all mix in beautifully with the Creating Memories collection which we have as regular stock.

Hello.
It’s Sunday. Mr M is at work , he left at 5.10 am and won’t be home until 7pm.
A day to myself.

What should I be doing? I’ll tell you what I should be doing. Washing, ironing, cleaning, paperwork etc. All the jobs that need doing which I can’t get done whilst I’m working.

Where am I ?
I’m in the workshop sewing because a gorgeous Tilda fabric arrived this week and I just couldn’t wait to make something with it. 😂😂

CUTE AS A BUTTON !

We had a delivery of some beautiful Tilda fabrics today (I will post a picture when we have them all out on the shelves).

In the mean time feast your eyes on these cute little buttons. Aren’t they adorable?

I’ve got an idea for a great little crafty project which will incorporate quite a few of them.
Just got to find time to make it.
