And The Lost Hero is sitting in position 506. This is down to current downloads and KDP reads (Kindle Unlimited, pages read)

I don’t have the power of paid advertisements just my social media presence that is promoting this book and the Faultline of War series. So yes I’m blown away 🤯

Thank you to all who have taken the opportunity to purchase and read these books, which are part of my and fellow veterans' stories for others to read and share.

I salute you all 🫡

A story written by a veteran, for veterans, military thriller readers, and anyone who understands that the deepest wounds of war are not always visible.

The Lost Hero is the opening book in my Faultlines of War series, but beneath the military action lies something far more personal: the bond between a father and son.

William Clarke is a veteran of Borneo, Northern Ireland and the Falklands. A man shaped by service, sacrifice and the memories he carried home. To his son David, however, he has always simply been Dad.

As William’s health begins to fail and dementia slowly steals pieces of the man he once was, David starts to uncover the soldier behind his father. The battles he fought. The burdens he carried. The sacrifices he never spoke about.

It is a story about service, family, memory and the painful distance that can sometimes exist between fathers and sons.

Because sometimes it takes a lifetime to truly understand the man who raised you.

Written by a British Army veteran with respect for those who served, those who waited at home, and the families who continue to carry the long echo of war.

The Faultlines of War series

At its heart, this series is about more than combat.
It is about what war does to people.
What duty asks of them.
What family means when generations carry the same burden.
And how courage is sometimes found not in the fight itself, but in living with what comes after.
If you enjoy gritty British military fiction, emotionally driven storytelling, and characters shaped by honour, trauma, endurance, and loyalty, then the Faultlines of War series may be for you. Whether you begin with The Lost Hero, throw yourself into Ghost in the Woods, or feel the emotional weight of When the Shooting Stops, or the penultimate Heat of Regret, each book carries its own story while building a wider legacy that continues to deepen with every instalment. Order now on Amazon. Paperback, Hardback and ebooks.

The Heat of Regret.

His war ended years ago.
The man he left behind never forgot.

Michael Clarke has tried to bury Basra, the dust, the guilt, and the promises he could not keep. But when a message arrives from Hristo Stojanov, an old interpreter turned deadly enemy, Michael is dragged back into the one chapter of his life he can never escape.

As past and present collide, Heat and Regret tells the story of a British soldier, a broken promise, and the terrible cost paid by those abandoned when the war moved on. From the mortar hit compounds and deadly streets of Basra to a modern-day hunt driven by grief and vengeance, this is a dark, tense and emotionally charged military thriller about loyalty, betrayal and revenge.

For readers of Chris Ryan and Andy McNab, Heat and Regret is a gritty British war thriller where the action is brutal, the emotion cuts deep, and the past comes back armed.
