It’s so easy to fall into the mindset that you have to be at every trade show, or you’re missing out.

But they’re not always the best - or most time and cost effective - way to grow a small business. Between the stand fees, the travel, the setup and the days away from actually making things, they don’t always add up to what you’d hope.

That’s why we’ve decided to take a little break from trade shows and have a year focusing on a bit of a new direction instead.

This is exactly how we always imagined these cards.

makes.a.man_ took these when he spoke at the event, and we couldn’t have planned a better shot if we tried.

The What Makes a Man range exists because these conversations matter. Because the men in that room matter. Because someone needs to say out loud that strength looks like vulnerability, like showing up, like being willing to feel it all.

The sympathy section has looked the same for decades. Muted colours, same words, same design. Like grief has a dress code.

We don’t think it does.

A card should say “I saw this and thought of you”- not “this is what I was supposed to buy.” Because feeling supported and feeling seen aren’t quite the same thing. And the right card does both. It should reflect the memory, the love, everything their person meant to them. Not just the grief.

If the person you’re sending to loved colour before - they still do. Grief doesn’t change that.

That’s why our cards are designed the way they are 💜đŸȘ©
