Very, very excited to announce a signing and in conversation with Tom Wood and Gem Fletcher next Thursday June 25 at our new location 11a Kingsland Road, e2 8aa, 6-9pm.
Seats will be limited and RSVP is essential to [email protected]

Signed copies of the new title AND LOVE COMES IN AT THE EYE, will be available on the night and pre-orders via our website.

Marking a significant moment in Wood’s career, ‘And Love Comes in at the Eye’ returns to the Chelsea Reach nightclub in New Brighton, Merseyside — the same setting that formed the basis of his first and much-acclaimed book, ‘Looking for Love’ (1989). This new volume, with photographs taken between 1979 and 1986, presents an entirely unseen body of work, with many images also made in the night-club’s twin venue ‘The Grand’, after 1am.

‘And Love Comes in at the Eye’ presents a myriad approach to the subject matter, combining multiple formats, surfaces, methods and materials. Many scans were produced from contact sheets and work-prints, in black & white and colour, to create a unique assemblage orchestrated and designed by Wood’s long-term collaborator, artist Pádraig Timoney. A completely new dynamic has been brought to this body of work; an exploration of the photographic and the book medium, through striking and compelling images, full of excitement, tension, humour and energy.

Printed in Denmark by Narayana Press, with a meticulous attention to quality and craft in keeping with Wood’s longstanding commitment to the photographic print as object.

40 Portraits 2003–2008 by Gisèle Vienne, with text by Dennis Cooper.

Bureaucracy in the city is garrulous and lonely and galleries are stuffed to the brim with figurative sculpture. Here’s a book for it: 40 portraits of Gisèle
Vienne’s life-sized taciturn teenage dolls. Silent and sulky.

Gisèle Vienne is a French-Austrian artist, choreographer and puppeteer working across sculpture, performance and theatre.
