Join us on 22nd October, Thursday, for a very special evening of scent and story 🤍📘 To celebrate my new novel, and recreate the smoky bohemian atmosphere of 1930s Paris, I’ll be at Norfolk Natural Living in their gorgeous Bloomsbury perfumery. There’ll be candlelight, book signings and a chance to explore the fabulous selection of perfumes, as well as welcome drinks and a little something to take away with you. Thank you for following along 💛 I’m Michelle and I opened a vintage shop 14 years ago in east London. But my vintage journey started long before that. I collected things as a child: fossils, shells, books… anything inspired by the past. I enjoyed the visual history, the little stories in found or everyday objects, and I invented my own stories. I’m not especially nostalgic for the past (I definately live in the present) but I love a great piece of reclaimed furniture or a vintage painting. How about you, do you prefer vintage pieces?

Hope you’re having a great weekend, lovely followers. I came across this photo from when I had the shop - it’s the same day in September from a few years ago. I’ve still got the step ladders, they were my grandmothers (she used them to paint her living room every year, up to the age of 83!). And the blue door, just seen, is now in my living room. It just goes to show that vintage, well-made things last longer than most of their newer counterparts. How has your weekend been? Michelle x
