✨An office reception, transformed into a garden.

Moss laid across the marble, chairs bedded into a garden border, and delphiniums, hydrangeas, roses, muscari and helebores planted in sweeping drifts around the reception desk. Between the columns, a market stall with spiralling greenery as if it had grown there.

At this scale, an installation becomes an engineering challenge as much as a design one - weight, light, water, access and a service lift that was never built with a tree in mind.

Part one of the more surprising things we’ve been asked to create. There are stranger ones still to come, and at MJVD, we’ll always love a creative challenge.

Marrying inside one of the world’s great plant collections is a hard act for a florist to follow 🤍

So we didn’t try to out-do Kew. Cream and blush garden roses, sweet peas, rice flower and larkspur, kept loose enough that the borders looked like they’d wandered indoors. The aisle read as a garden path. The bouquets stayed soft and slightly undone, entirely on purpose for garden gathered vibes.

Then Kew went and showed us all up. Last slide.

August, and not one quiet week in it 🌿
A film premiere, heatwave weddings, a dinner under the trees, and a studio so full there was nowhere left to put a bucket. Come on in.

The whole month in one snapshot. Everything August did, in one go.

Cosmos, nerines and clematis, ballerinas’ tutus twirling on the table.

The light moves right across this room over an afternoon, so we designed for that, different at three o’clock and different again at seven.

A full studio, which is our favourite state and our least tidy. Every bench going, everyone on their feet, com:post sacks filling faster than the buckets and the disco ball always bringing the good vibes. 🪩

A film premiere usually gets a red carpet, The Dog Stars premiere got an urban wasteland.

And then a dinner that asked for the opposite of all that. One long table under the trees, alchemilla, swirling grasses and garden roses running the length of it, burgundy dahlias, smoke bush, tapers lit just before the light went. Nothing taller than a conversation.

The beauty of nature done differently. Never two days the same.
That was August, now onto September, the turn of the seasons and a month we adore...

A wedding, a fashion activation and a premiere. One studio. One day.

Three entirely different worlds being built at once, bench by bench, list by list, hands moving through buckets of flowers that will end up in three parts of the city by the evening.

An ordinary Tuesday in August. Dahlias, cosmos, scabious and asters arriving faster than we can count them.

August, and the studio is at its busiest and its best. Our favourite flowers that came through our doors this month, in under a minute.

In our opinion you can never have enough dahlias, especially in pink!

Thistle for a dusty blue nothing else can give you. Beside it the grasses have already begun to turn gold: August at its most abundant, with one eye on what’s coming next.

Bronze against pink is always a good idea!

One stem, one small ribbed vase, forty times over. Slow work to untangle and always worth it.

One dutch bucket: butter, magenta, lilac, blush and the palette choses itself.

Everything looks better with ammi. It’s what gives all that colour room to breathe.

British-grown wherever the season allows.

A hidden garden in the heart of London, and a table designed to feel completely immersed in the moment🌿🌷

For this intimate client dinner at The Charterhouse, we let grasses, garden roses, cotinus and cosmos spill the length of the tablescape, shimmering in the soft summer breeze and echoing the gardens just beyond the walls. Every delicate stem placed with precision and intention by the MJV Studio - a dream to create.

Faded grandeur, softened in blush and white.

Old Sessions House is a former Georgian courthouse in Clerkenwell — Palladian columns and crystal chandeliers set above walls left raw, the plaster worn back to the colour of old candlelight. It’s the clash of old glamour with the modernity of the new, which is exactly why we love designing into it.

For a summer event here, we kept the palette gentle and let it run abundant: peonies, garden roses and hydrangea gathered loose along the grand staircase, tall urns reaching toward the arched windows, single stems left to lean against the panelling. Soft flowers against weathered walls, nothing too neat, everything given room to breathe.

A place where the faded and the fresh belong to one another.
