Are you 18–30 years old and curious about natural colour, sustainable textiles and creative experimentation?

Join Camden Botanical Colour Lab — a FREE creative programme where we’ll explore the hidden colours of plants through botanical inks, natural dyeing and textile making, inspired by nature and the collections of the British Library.

Across a series of hands-on workshops, you’ll learn how to transform plants into pigments, create your own colour library, experiment with sustainable materials and contribute to a collaborative artwork celebrating Camden’s botanical heritage.

No previous experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

🎨 Suitable for ages 18–30
☕ Tea, coffee and light refreshments provided during the first session
🌱 Keep most of the work you create, with one sample becoming part of our collective artwork

Join me this September and October for Camden Botanical Colour Lab—a free creative workshop series where we’ll transform plants into colour, explore botanical inks, uncover stories hidden in the British Library archives and create together.

Over five workshops you’ll:

Just as plants have given us colour for centuries, I’m curious about what our coastlines can teach us. Could seaweed become a source of natural dyes, experimental inks, bio-based films, or even future regenerative textiles?

What if our inks came from living systems instead of petrochemicals?

Made from botanical pigments, algae, charcoal, roots, flowers and food waste, RAWprint explores colour as a living material. Each ink carries its own character, imperfections and story — shifting, ageing and evolving over time.

No synthetic pigments.
No acrylics.
No plastic-based colour systems.

Just plants, minerals, microbes and experimentation.

Because colour doesn’t have to come from a factory. It can come from a garden, a kitchen, a field, or a laboratory.
