August has been a productive month for us: new product developments, some time off in the sun and at the beach, and hearing directly from you about how your skin’s been doing.

💡 New research just backed up something we’ve long suspected.

🔍 A study published this July found that people with low magnesium had a 17% higher risk of psoriasis, and a 9% higher risk of atopic dermatitis, compared to those with normal levels.

It’s a link, not proof that low magnesium causes either condition, the researchers are clear more studies are needed. But it’s real evidence pointing in a direction we’ve long trusted.

If your reactive skin is irritated after a day in the sun, don’t panic and shop for a quick fix, and try this instead.

🍃 Avoid using any fragranced products tonight. Reach for something non-fragrant instead.
🍃 Rinse with cool or lukewarm water in the shower, not hot. Hot water makes inflamed skin worse.
🍃 Pat your skin dry with a towel. Don’t rub. That irritates skin that’s already sore.
🍃 Moisturise straight after, while skin’s still a little damp. Avoid anything with alcohol in it.
🍃 Keep your skincare routine simple for tonight. No exfoliating, no actives, no extra steps.
