The Rolling Stones famously played cricket during a 1968 photoshoot at Swarkestone Pavilion in Derbyshire, England.

Jagger is a known lifelong cricket enthusiast, frequently attending England Test matches.
The late drummer Charlie Watts was also a fan, sometimes visiting cricket museums or watching games during tours, including at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Before Nevermind changed everything, Bleach laid the foundation.

Released in 1989 on Sub Pop, Bleach wasn’t trying to be mainstream, it was heavy, gritty, and unapologetically rooted in the underground Seattle grunge scene. Tracks like “Blew” and “Negative Creep” hit with a dark, sludgy intensity inspired by bands like Black Sabbath and the Melvins. 

But hidden in all that noise? A glimpse of what was coming. “About A Girl” brought melody into the chaos, hinting at the sound that would soon take Nirvana global.

On September 25, 1969 Jimi Hendrix was joined by Buddy Miles at the Record Plant where they recorded this stunning take of
“Room Full Of Mirrors,” a song he had revisited several times extending to sessions in August
1968. This new take on an old theme, although unrehearsed, featured a faster pace, punchier drums and a short burst of “Message To Love” in the mix for good measure.

“I used to live in a room full of mirrors. All I could see was me. Then I take my spirit and I smash my mirrors - and now the whole world is here for me to see...” 🪞🎸

American singer, songwriter and musician Marvin Gaye (1939 - 1984) sings on British television music show ‘Ready Steady Go!’, 20th November 1964.

On November 21, 1964, Gaye entered the Hot 100 what would would become a new crossover success and a top tenner on both surveys, “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You).”
