The Fleur Gold - soon back in stock.

Perfect on gold, and silver hoops for a little mixed metal moment.

It’s taken me ages to get these back in stock, with the price of precious metals they have jsut been a little too expensive to make, but with as I’m growing so are my scales of economy so these are back at the same price they always.

It’s important to me that I’m able to price online with the high street, (think cos or Arket) so price becomes a little of an influence on the decision making process - know that you’re getting something maybe a little more special, a bit more unique and hopefully not something lots of other people will have too. I’ve made 40 of these charms - so 20 pairs will be available, with some heading off to wonderful wholesale customers (thank you thank you) - meaning I’ll have 10 ready for sale a little later this week!

I miss my studio.

Right now it’s too hot to work in. Sweaty, unbearable. Far too ginger for this sort of weather. Potentially dangerous, actually. Though danger has always seemed to be a place where I thrive.
So instead, I’m pondering. Thinking. Dreaming. Conceptualising. Learning the theory before I start experimenting with some new ideas.
It’s productive, in its own way. The notebooks are filling up. Screenshots are being saved. I’m texting my pals ‘what about this - hmmmm’ Research rabbit, mole, badger holes are being followed. But it feels a little like creative purgatory.
Because the itch is strong. Cover my fingers either way mittens.

I think most people who make things will understand that feeling. The desire to create isn’t always a gentle invitation, sometimes it’s a compulsion. A persistent tug at your sleeve. An unfinished sentence. A song stuck in your head. A loop a loop a loop.
You can read about the process. You can plan the process. You can think about the process endlessly.
But eventually you have to get your hands dirty.
So for now I’m collecting ideas like magpies collect shiny things, waiting for the temperature to drop enough that I can return to my little furnace and start turning thoughts into objects.

The making will come soon enough.
Until then, I’m daydreaming with purpose. Research is my second love after glass.

Modelling the tiny peachy bottoms in the little glass peaches has taken far more time (and research) than you might imagine.
A surprising amount of art history has been consulted in pursuit of the perfect peach.
Sketches, paintings, sculptures, screenshots, observations from life... all in service of getting that little bum just right.
It’s hard work.
But somebody has to do it.
And as it turns out, I love a good butt and a good peach!

If I could only keep one piece from the collection, it might be these.
The everyday hoop is the base for everything. Simple enough to wear on its own, but ready to be transformed with handmade glass charms, vintage treasures and seasonal favourites whenever the mood takes you.
One pair of hoops. Endless combinations. Especially as all our charms can be bought without hoops, so you really just need one pair - unless you like to switch between silver and gold!
A little less buying new, a little more reinventing what you already love.

The ideas that come when carrying too many bags.

Post mega workshop, all my tools, beads and chain jumbled into tote bags, unexpected pairings and a new possibility.
A longer length! Can be wrapped to be stacked, or left long.

Murano glass beads + paperclip chain = maybe the perfect summer necklace?
