I’m trying to be a little more organised about what I’m packing - so here is what I am taking with me on a week long trip to Porto.

2 pairs of earrings (one silver, one gold)
3 necklaces (one paperclip, one satellite, one beaded)
9 clip on charms (food and a cigarette)
4 pairs of glass pendant charms (Fleur and melt)
2 charm enhancers (clip and carabiner)

I’ve tried to model the data and calculate how many options and variations I can get from this more condensed jewellery bundled, because we all know I love a bit of date - and it’s actually too much for my pre-holiday brain to figure out. A huge number of variants and arrangements!

And if I wear my beaded necklace to travel in, it all fits in the palm of my hand, wrapped in a little tissue inside one of care pouches. Not too shabby!

I’m off my holidays - the first time in bloody ages!

The shop is open Thursday and Friday (closing at 2pm tomorrow)

Anything ordered will be made and shipping on my return so please add extra time and I’ll aim to get everything shipped by the 17th

See you on the other side when I’m filed with sardines and port!

Big love,
Harriet

For all you Smoking Joes and Fag Ash Lila

Ever since I started making the little glass ci******es (with full credit to my pal David for the original spark), I’ve been asked the same thing Will you make them into charms?

So, rather than shrinking the object, I wanted to keep the feeling. Something you can wear, carry about, fiddle with. Still a cigarette, just more active than the glass ones hanging out in your ash tray!

And so, the charm is alive!!

Buy one. Buy two. Buy a pack of 12 (remember when that was a thing?).

These are going pre-order - just 20 available. They’ll be made and posted when I’m back from holiday (approx 16th August!). Each one slightly different. Each one made just for you, with you in mind!

Nostalgic, a little on the nose, faintly ridiculous, and made with a sense of humour, which I hope you understand and love as a much as do!

Everyday Gold Hoops - some v simple, some a little bit extra, and some sit slap bang in the middle.

A small selection of the bestsellers - and as I usually only get 5-10 pairs of these made there won’t be many people walking around in the same thing. (This is v important to me!)

Big love,
Harriet

I find that ideas can often have terrible timing. Sometimes even dangerous. I’ve been sitting in a funk, not wanting to push or force feeling creative, being slower, looking more, paying more attention, the light, the surroundings, people.

Ironically the latest one arrived because a man shouted at me because he didn’t think I was looking, jokes on you pal I’m probably looking too much!

I contemplated telling him to smile more, and then my eyes were drawn to the gelato shop I was riding past.

Those enormous painted scoops. All glossy curves and impossible colours. Frankly delicious!

Which made me realise gelato and glass are probably quite similar, maybe even distant cousins. They’re both softened by heat. They’re both a bit magical before they become solid. They both make you want to touch them, even when you probably shouldn’t. Hand or tongue!

Anyway. That’s experimentation, and inspiration biting you on the bum when a man is angry with you! 🙄 Fully paying attention to the thing you meant to be looking at, and half being distracted by something much better. Oh aaaand giving zero attention to aggy men, amiright?

Thank you to ɢᴇʟᴀᴛɪꜱᴛʀʏ~ᴀʀᴛ ᴏꜰ ɢᴇʟᴀᴛᴏ for being an inspiration

There are still a few spaces left on my July and August jewellery workshops at English Bridge Studios.
If you’ve been meaning to make something with your hands, this is your sign.

For a couple of hours we’ll slow down, put our phones away, drink something nice, chat (or not), and you’ll design your own beaded or charm necklace using Easthope-made Murano glass beads, vintage treasures and plenty of beautiful bits to choose from. No experience needed, just a little curiosity.
People often come on their own, and by the end of the evening everyone is gathered around the table, comparing creations and helping each other choose oh just one more charm or bead

It’s one of my favourite parts of Easthope.

July and August dates are now available at English Bridge Studios, but spaces are kept small so they don’t tend to hang around for long.
