Due to circumstances, things and other stuff, Shake The Foundations is closing at Lamb’s Conduit Street.

Massive thanks to Chris Ward at for initiating the joint venture between Shake The Foundations and Huckle, it’s been a fun ride. Thanks to all the friends and acquaintances, old and new, who have visited the store, all the sonic heads who dug for sonic sounds, all the independent label owners that brought in their releases directly, the DJs and producers for their tales and inspiration, the artists who displayed on our walls and to all those who came and partied at our events. Finally, respectus largus to all the DJs, acts, authors and speakers, who provided some fantastic light entertainment in the basement.

We will connect again somewhere over the horizon, so keep your sonic communication devices close to receive any future transmissions.

Shake The Foundations. Viva Acid House. Be More Weatherall.

Always great to see long-time friend Pete Pressure Sounds , who came to the shop last week to drop off some restocks.

Pressure Sounds releases are always packed full of killer tunes and rhythms, beautifully mastered and packaged with love. Among this latest batch are the excellent dancehall compilation ‘Rubadub Revolution’, the Prince Jammy mixed albums; ‘Dubbing In The Backyard’ and ‘Bunny Lee Super Disco Style’, ‘Dubbing In The Front Yard’ & ‘Conflict Dub’ Also back in stock is Joe Higgs’ brilliant ‘Life Of Contradiction’, ‘Mek It Run’ - Dennis Bovell’s collection of serious dubs, Jimmy Radway’s ‘Dub I’, ‘King Tubby’s Prophecies Of Dub’ and one of the excellent collections of rare Lee Perry cuts that have appeared on the label - ‘Mr. Perry I Presume’. You know the drill, run come quick, as these always disappear.

Shake The Foundations is full of pre-owned records, many of which have come from the collections of renound DJs and collectors; Electronica, Rock, Techno, Dub, Psychedelia, Electro, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soundtracks, Post-Punk, House, Punk, African, Jazz, Indie, Tech-House, Breakbeat and lots of other foundation shaking rhythms from across the genres and around the globe.

While you’re here you can also check out the display of music-related artwork by Personality Crisis , which is also available to buy.

Five Green Moons is the solo project of legendary Acid House frontliner, Justin Robertson , and following on from last year’s brilliant ‘Moon 1’, the equally cracking ‘Moon 2’ is now out and Justin has kindly dropped off some copies personally. Please form an orderly queue.

His debut live performance at last night’s splendid party put on by Stranger Than Paradise records , was a taster for more live shows next year - be sure to catch one when they come around.

Shake The Foundations is full of pre-owned records, many of which have come from the collections of renowned DJs and collectors; Electronica, Rock, Techno, Dub, Psychedelia, Electro, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soundtracks, Post-Punk, House, Punk, African, Jazz, Indie, Tech-House, Breakbeat and lots of other foundation shaking rhythms from across the genres and around the globe.

Boom! What a night we had here at Shake The Foundations and Huckle last Thursday for the Radioactive Man Xmas Party. ‘Riotus’ is the word being bandied about. Anyone who missed it… hope you enjoyed a quiet night, because we certainly didn’t!

Keith brought with him a whole batch of Radioactive Man vinyl delights including his brand new ‘Jam Out The Mix’ album - see previous post - and he also left a stack of very limited ‘Jam Out The Mix’ t-shirts in silver and gold! This was a very small run, so get here quick if you want one… No reserves - first come, first served. There are also some kracking khaki green ones with the fresh Radioactive Man logo looking sharp.

Visit the shop before Christmas if you don’t want to miss these or any of the Radioactive Man records that are now in store. The vinyl cut of ‘Jam Out The Mix’ has been pumping out of the Shake The Foundations sound system since last week, and will be all the way up to Christmas.

Wallop! Last Thursday at Shake The Foundations and Huckle went off like a depth charge for the Radioactive Man Xmas Party. The dust is still settling… ‘Mayhem’ seems to be the consensus. If you didn’t show up, don’t worry - we had your fun for you!

Keith brought with him a whole stack of Radioactive Man vinyl delights, including his brand new ‘Jam Out The Mix’ album featuring remixes from last year’s spectacular ‘Jam Out The Kicks’ album - both on his own Asking For Trouble label. These are all now available here at Shake The Foundations. He also left some very special, very limited ‘Jam Out The Mix’ t-shirts - see following post…

There’s a cizzle in the circuitry and a spark in the speakers, as we gear up for another night of unruly frequencies at Shake The Foundations and Huckle, where the Radioactive Man Xmas Party lands this Thursday! To keep the sonic wires humming, we lobbed another set of 3s into Radioactive Man’s orbit and he returned them faster than Santa’s sleigh strapped to techno-fuelled jet engines.

3 best Biscuits of 2025
1. Fox’s half coated cookies
Amazing dunker - but be careful not to dunk too long…

2. M&S Outrageously Chocolatey Milk Chocolate Rounds
Ohhh mannn.

3 . Choco Liebniz (dark or milk)
Been in top 3 since the days of the Rotters Golf Club and beyond.

3 records that changed my life.
1. Hashim - Al Naayfish (The Soul)
Utterly incredible electro track from ‘83 that STILL sounds utterly incredible.

2. Drexciya - Wavejumper
Quite simply a league of their own by a million miles.

3. Photek- UFO
Drum break chopping that gave me goosebumps and still does, coupled with the UFO sighting sample. A Mazing!

3 pieces of club culture I miss
1. No phones taking constant pictures/videos - an obvious one that I’m sure a lot of people would agree with

2. Going out from Thursday to Sunday night (that’s just cos I’m too old. Booooo.

3. Not feeling ripped off by insane drinks prices and generally getting a small can or bottle for silly money. Be fair!
