Struggling financially? Support may be available.

The Crisis and Resilience Fund can provide eligible residents with help towards essential items and living costs, as well as access to advice that can help improve financial wellbeing in the longer term.

This could include support with food, energy costs, essential clothing and school uniform, household items, furniture and white goods, and some housing-related costs.

Residents can apply directly online, or be referred by a Council officer or partner organisation.

A useful reminder for anyone working with unpaid carers in Bexley.
The latest Bexley Community Champions newsletter highlights a range of local support and opportunities.

We particularly want to draw colleagues’ attention to pages 15–16, which feature our energy and home safety support.

Through a partnership with Crossroads SEL and SELCE-South East London Community Energy the service can support unpaid carers in Bexley with:

• Reducing energy costs and keeping the home warm • Checking income and benefits entitlement • Energy tariff advice • Support with energy debt • Registration for the Priority Services Register • Home safety and carbon monoxide awareness

If you working with unpaid carers and their families in Bexley, please share this with them or consider whether someone you are supporting could benefit.

Sometimes a conversation about energy bills, household safety or keeping warm can uncover wider pressures, and getting the right advice early can make a real difference.
