Hello fashionistas,I hope you’ve been enjoying Fashion Week! As Chanel lovers, what do you think of the new bags from Matthieu Blazy’s 2026 prêt-à-porter collection?
A Chanel bag has always been far more than just an accessory. It represents a certain fashion attitude and lifestyle — one that blends timeless elegance with empowerment. For many, it also carries deeper meaning: a symbol of identity, a personal journey, and even an investment. Quite often, these bags become treasured family heirlooms, passed down through generations.
For Fall 2026, we are particularly intrigued by the new double-flap bag featuring both the classic 2.55 clasp and the 11.12 double-C closure. We are still trying to figure out how Blazy came up with this concept! As you know, the 2.55 bag was designed by Madame Coco Chanel in 1955. It symbolized freedom and empowerment, freeing women’s hands with its shoulder strap — practical for everyday life while remaining effortlessly elegant. The 11.12 is the modern interpretation of the classic flap bag introduced by Karl Lagerfeld in the early 1980s, replacing the original 2.55 “Mademoiselle” lock with the now iconic interlocking CC clasp. Blazy’s version places both closures on a single bag, essentially merging two generations of Chanel heritage.
From a business perspective, perhaps it is quite clever — one bag suddenly speaks to three audiences. However from an aesthetic perspective, do you like this reinterpretation, or do you still prefer the classic 2.55 and 11.12 bags?
Would love to hear your thoughts. Many thanks, and have a lovely day/evening 🌸🌸💕✨
