👑 On this day in 1533, Anne Boleyn was crowned Queen of England at Westminster Abbey.

After years of controversy, political upheaval and Henry VIII’s break with Rome, Anne’s coronation was designed to send a powerful message: she was the rightful queen, and the future of the Tudor dynasty rested with her. Dressed in cloth of gold and carried through London in a magnificent procession, Anne was celebrated with pageants, music and spectacular displays along the route. ✨

In a remarkable break with tradition, Anne was crowned with the crown usually reserved for monarchs — highlighting the significance of this moment. She was also heavily pregnant, with the court expecting the birth of a long-awaited male heir. Instead, just three months later, she would give birth to a daughter who would become one of England’s greatest monarchs: Elizabeth I.

Anne’s coronation was one of the most lavish and politically charged royal ceremonies in Tudor history, marking a moment that would change England forever.

• Legend says if the ravens ever leave the Tower, the kingdom itself could fall 😬
• There must always be at least SIX on site — royal orders! 👑
• They have their own keeper (the Ravenmaster), dine on a rather dramatic menu (think raw meat… and biscuits soaked in blood 😅), and rule their own territories inside the Tower 🏰

Basically: they’re not just birds… they’re feathered VIPs with attitude 😎
