Art, whilst bringing enjoyment to all, also gives a fascinating personal and historical view from the artists of landscapes, cultures and the lives of people from the past that otherwise would be lost. What a wonderful gift to Jersey! Come and see some of the wonderful artistic heritage of Sark which is one of the reasons we founded our gallery. And maybe start a sketchbook of your own.

🖼️ A rare 19th Century sketchbook, offering a unique glimpse into how parts of Jersey looked more than 100 years ago, has been donated to study group Société Jersiaise.

It contains 80 pencil sketches and watercolours showing Jersey's landscapes.

Although long time Sark visitor and artist Caroline Anderson's main exhibition is finished, we are delighted to be able to continue displaying some of her work, and have prints, cards and calendars of a selection of Sark scenes available. And whilst you're there why not have a look at our own Louis Hill's new collection of collages and Emma Jo's amazing head dress creations!

Another set of lovely Sark stamps celebrating another Sark connected artist!

📣 We are delighted to announce the release of a new set of commemorative stamps honouring our island’s special connection with the renowned French writer Victor Hugo. 🇫🇷

His visits to Sark during his Channel Islands exile inspired some of his most memorable literary works. 📝

Issued by Guernsey Post’s Philatelic Bureau, the six-stamp collection showcases artwork by James Colmer, depicting the spectacular landscapes of Sark that captivated Hugo’s imagination. 🖼️

These stamps also celebrate Sark as a destination for literary tourism, history, walking and nature-based experiences. 🥾

Visitors can explore the landscapes associated with Hugo’s visits while experiencing the tranquillity and natural beauty that remain largely unchanged since the 19th century. 🇨🇶
