Fashion Revolution Week 22nd to 28th April 2026.

First started by Orsola de Castro and Carry Somers in 2013, following the Rana Plaza factory disaster. Creating a movement for a more transparent, sustainable and ethical industry. It started as a Fashion Revolution Day on the 24th April, then it extended to a week. For global campaigning.

It has been thirteen years since the Rana Plaza commercial building collapsed. This was due to structural failure. It happened on the 24th April 2013, in Savar Upazila, near Dhaka in Bangladesh.

The confirmed death toll was 1,134. About 2,500 people who were injured were rescued from the disaster.

We remember today for the people who lost their lives or have life changing injuries.

From Fairtrade Foundation

The unfair price paid to farmers. The power taken from the people who grow our food. Systems that make billions while others go without.

Unfair trade isn’t abstract. It’s in our kitchens, our supermarkets, our everyday choices. And when trade is built on unfairness anywhere, justice is weakened everywhere.

Fairness shouldn’t depend on luck or location.
That’s why people around the world are pushing for trade that puts dignity, rights and voice first - and why Fairtrade exists.
What happens anywhere matters everywhere ✊🏽🌍
