Beautiful portrait from .mundi at our balcony a few months ago.

That leaves me thinking that I have so many beautiful photos of pots on my hard drive that I haven’t posted here and I find it so hard to create a workflow for that to happen!!!

(Not sure why, although I do have some clues.)

Have you have found a neat way to make this process smoother? Shoot me a message if you have.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY!!!

Coffee is pretty much my business partner as I feel that half of the job couldn’t be done without it 😂 so, here is my love letter to you, coffee, and to whoever got to extract the incredible elixir for the first time!!!

Also, sipping my coffee today and thinking about making some more pour overs for xmas, anyone else on the same mood???

Handbuilt sgraffito centrepiece I made the other week.
For this piece I illustrated a fruit called “pinha” that grows on my mom’s allotment on her hometown. It’s a delicious seeded fruit and the tree has these beautiful large leaves.
Just found out this fruit is called sugar apple here... do try it if you get the chance!
Sadly the bowl got a crack right in the middle while drying out, not sure if I will be able to save it 🥲

Hi, I am Renate, the face behind the pots! 🙃

On the 1st post of the year, as there are some new faces here, just thought I could reintroduce myself!

I am Brazilian and I have moved to London 5 years ago looking for a change. I consider myself an easy person, I love to travel, I love pisco sour, love people and dogs, I love to cook, to eat and I also love the sun.
Besides that, I have always loved homeware!

After getting introduced to pottery by a friend in 2016, I started a 12 week course that made me realise that this craft combined everything that I enjoy in one thing: it connects my passion for food, for arts and for making.

Straight away it became a hobby and the best therapy I could have ever found.
It’s a pleasure to create with clay, it brings me to the moment, it teaches me patience and it introduces me to incredible inspiring people.

Overtime I started dedicating myself more and more to it and what you see in the feed is just a little snapshot of the whole picture.
Behind the scenes it’s a massive learning curve in all departments and I hope I can get to share a bit more of it as it goes.

Through all this, it has been incredibly important to have the support of all my family, friends and customers that keep me going with kind words of encouragement and also give me lots of feedback that allow me to improve and get better everyday (thanks to you all reading this!).

Last year was crazy but also allowed me to put more energy on socials and I really hope this year will be much better, so why don’t you let me know if there is something you wanna see more around here?!

Nice to meet you and I see you around!!!

What a challenge this year has been! Such an emotional struggle for so many people, so many losses, so much to reevaluate..

Pottery got interrupted for some months this year as my studio remained closed for a bit but I gotta say yall, it did keep me sane!
All you there across this screen also really kept me focus and going with the INCREDIBLE reviews and feedback through all this, so I would like to take the time to thank you (yes, you!) for all the love and support.

I hope 2021 will be big for my studio and for all of you reading this. I wanna learn and develop my practice a lot, and I also want to find a way to contribute to the world through all this. So I invite you to join me on this journey.

I wish a year of creativity and strength for everyone whose business was hit by these challenging times... so let’s make 2021 count!
I see you all on the other side!

Last process video of the year.
I almost never use brush glazes but bought this Spectrum 1140 kiwi fruit Glaze for a commission and loved the colour. That’s the way I found to brush them all at the same height (probably not the the easiest one 😅)
Made 12 porcelain cups with half way glaze and a cute stamp on the bottom with the company name, check it out!
