Your bite size catch up on the bank holiday’s retail highlights

London-based label Chopova Lowena has opened its first permanent space, the Clubhouse.
“The space will act as a meeting point for seasonal events, pop-ups and celebrations throughout the year, with a continual flow of exclusive products and Clubhouse Collection items.”

A masterclass in world building 🪞 Every touchpoint reflects the brand’s own juxtaposition; folklore and sportswear, craft and sustainability , down to the last nick-nack. The experience starts before you arrive, tucked into the backstreets of East London, the Clubhouse asks you to seek it out. Once inside, it unfolds like a treasure chest: unexpected, tactile, impossible to take in on a single visit. It sits at home amid East London’s famously nonchalant cool neighbourhood.

The music pop-up has become retail’s new gig ticket…
From Dua Lipa’s spatial-audio takeover in Shoreditch to Ed Sheeran’s Play store at Outernet, fandom is being monetised through physical space.

For fans who can’t get a ticket, or want more, the pop-up becomes a way to be near the artist’s world, buy into it, and take a piece home.

Jay-Z is the latest to play the format, opening a UMusic Shop in Camden to coincide with two Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dates. Alongside limited-edition merch, the shop stocks Armand de Brignac ch*****ne and The Book of HOV: A Tribute to Jay-Z , with local DJs, including DJ Semtex, curating a soundtrack daily.

Key insight: exclusivity is doing double duty here, merch drives footfall for fans without tickets, while limited runs turn casual buyers into collectors 🎙️ It’s not just shop window for the tour. It’s a second fan experience and standalone reason to go.

📍UMusic Shop, Camden
Open now through September 2nd

Ever wondered what its like to run a store?

Our queens at Kildare Village show off what a normal day looks like running a store!

22/08/2026

Have you ever seen something on the runway and then found it in stores a few months later looking completely different?

There is a reason for that!

Runway is theatre. It is spectacle. Designers use it to tell a story, make a statement, and get people talking. The clothes are not always meant to be worn exactly as shown.

But by the time that same collection reaches the shop floor, it has been through a completely different process. Commercial fashion is a business, and business decisions change things. Fabrics get swapped, silhouettes get simplified, details get removed. What arrives on the hanger is often a version of the vision.

Would you wear runway products? Let us know!

Nobody's Child have just joined us at Kildare Village!

This is a brand built on proving that sustainable fashion can actually be accessible. Founded by Andrew Xeni, backed by M&S, and named Drapers Retailer of the Year two years running.

Every single product comes with a Digital Product Passport so you know exactly what went into what you are buying.

And you can find them now at Kildare Village

Have you ever wondered about the difference between small and large brands? We break it down!

Large brands give you consistency. You know what you are getting and it will be there next season. That is genuinely valuable.

But independent brands give you something different. The person who designed that piece usually also sourced the fabric and cares deeply about where it ends up. That level of thought just works differently at scale.

When you shop independent, you are getting something made in smaller quantities, considered more carefully, built for a specific person rather than everyone.

That is honestly why we do this. We just want to make those brands easier for you to find.
