Diary Reminder….

I will be stalling out at the OMRS Medal Show 2026.

The OMRS Medal Show is at the Warwick Arts Centre, Warwick University, Coventry, on the weekend of 18-19 September 26.

The main Medal Show activities including the exhibition, talks and medal fair will all take place on Saturday 19th September 26.

This is a superb event and thoroughly worth traveling to if you have an interest in medals. Please stop by my stall and say hello, it would be great to see you!

1940’s weekend update…

What a fantastic day at Baytree Garden Centre, Spalding at the 1940’s extravaganza weekend, loads of visitors, collectors and appropriately dressed enthusiasts to be seen!

Wartime vehicles, equipment and of course medals, and wonderful to meet some of FMP Medals’ followers from Facebook, thanks for coming over and saying Hello, really nice to meet you.

Come along tmr and enjoy day 2, I have some great items for sale and you will also be supporting Veterans at Ease, a wonderful charity.

DIARY REMINDER!!

I will be stalling out at the 1940’s extravaganza at Baytree Garden Centre, Weston, Spalding PE12 6JU, this weekend, 22/23 August 26.
Not my normal type of fair but the event is in support of Veterans at Ease so please do come along and enjoy the show and make sure you stop by my stall to say Hello!

I feel a bit depressed…..

I feel a bit down this weekend, I’m not attending a medal fair! I really look forward to stalling out, meeting fellow collectors and sharing experiences.

Most people I speak to have a collecting theme, the most popular being particular regiments, battles and family names, but I’ve come across some other really interesting paths that people follow to enjoy the hobby; some of these themes have included medals awarded to…..
The Clergy
Doctors and Nurses
Life saving awards
East African police units
Victorian militias
Casualties to a specific date
Prisoners of War
Specific clasps on a medal
Their home town

These are just a few examples, so it got me thinking, what theme do you collect to?

Please leave your theme in the comments below and share your ‘path’, you never know there might just be a fellow collector out there who shares your interests!

After Fair Report…

I stalled out at Newark Fair yesterday. Business was brisk and I managed to sell quite a diverse range of items from Victorian campaign medals, WW1 & WW2 groups along with a superb boxed Military MBE 1st type to a very happy customer!

I also took along a few militaria items and sold a pristine set of Mk8 RAF flight goggles, along with various badges, books and postcards; it really was an eclectic mixed bag, but importantly what was clear to me is that Newark fair is fast becoming known for its medal offerings, not just militaria as many people may think.

The fair has plenty of parking, a refreshments bar and the hall is laid out in such a way that customers can move freely between the stalls, despite the room often being busy with keen collectors.

I highly recommend this fair to anyone interested in medals, our presence is growing but we need your support in the future to keep Medal fairs alive.

SAVE THE DATE…. 15 November 2026

This is a must attend event for anyone interested in Medals. Please make the effort to come along, there are excellent catering facilities and the venue is easy to find being located near Marble Arch Tube station and on the main bus routes along Edgware Road.

After Fair Report!
What a great experience at the very sunny Stratford upon Avon fair today.

A huge venue with lots of dealers, the doors opened promptly on time as usual and the fun began, the preview early birds searching out those bargains and I was fortunate enough to sell some lovely items to very appreciative customers; a very broad spectrum of sales from Victorian campaign medals right through to modern GSM’s.

It was lovely to see regular faces and a couple on new customers, so the day was very worthwhile.

Overall there was good footfall throughout the day, so a well supported event; if you’ve never been to Stratford fair before is definitely worth a visit.

If you can’t make Stratford then please find out where your local fair is and support it, you just might find something you’ve been looking for.
