Angela and Maureen have decided the time has come to retire, with effect from 1st February Dixons News will be in new ownership.

We both would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last 4 and a bit years the business has been sold as a going concern and all staff are staying so apart from we will not be around there will be no immediate change.

We would like to thank our staff for putting up with us and we could not have done it without your continued support.

Not only are we a newsagent we have a post office counter that’s open 7 days a week where you can deposit and withdraw cash, deposit cheques, pay bills, gift cards for a special occasion, We also sell stationery, wool, greeting cards, jigsaws, Yankee candles, sweets and a selection of boxes of chocolates, the photo show a selection of what is available

We would like to wish all our customers a very merry Christmas and thank you all for your support during the year. We are open tomorrow 24th December until 4.00pm and reopen Sunday normal hours 6.00am to 12.30pm. The post office is open from 7.30am to 4.00pm (closed for lunch 1.30 - 2.00pm on 24th December and reopens Sunday 27th 7.30am to 12.30pm
As you are all aware we are now in Tier 4 but as an essential service we will be open as normal.

POST OFFICE UPDATE

Royal Mail have advised the following changes to their timed guarantees for Special Delivery by 9am and 1pm services;

- Royal Mail are suspending the delivery guarantee for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am and 1pm items posted on Wednesday 23 December.

- Royal Mail will no longer guarantee that items posted on Wednesday 23 December will arrive prior to Christmas.

- Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am and 1pm items posted up to and including Tuesday 22 December remain unchanged.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

We are open as usual including our Post Office Counter where you can do you normal banking including cash withdrawals, cheque deposits. We DO NOT deal with Driving Licence, Passport, or Car Tax matters including the relevant forms.
Our Post Office will be open as usual during lockdown pls don’t forget we close the post office counter each day from 1.30 - 2.00pm.
We are an independent newsagents and apart from newspapers, magazines you will find greeting cards, stamps, wrapping paper, gift bags, wool and related haberdashery, stationery, sweets including a large range of favourite jar sweets. Just a reminder that you can use our Post Office to withdraw cash and deposit cheques and cash into your account for most banks excluding Nationwide (withdrawals only) . The post office is open between 7.30am and 6.00pm Monday to Saturday (closed between 1.30pm and 2.00pm every day) and Sunday 7.30 am - 12.30pm
