Last Flower Show post of the year … thanks for joining in or coming along on Sunday to make the show another great success.
The marquee was very busy during the afternoon and I hope you agree it looked wonderful.

Exhibits were slightly down but we had an absolutley outstanding 158 individual entrants putting in an amazing 921 exhibits which is still a truly great effort for a village our size.
It would be great to get this back over 1,000 next year.

We had great fun in the evening with the auction returning close to our record ever receipts so thanks for donating your exhibits it’s makes such a great difference.

The marquee has been booked for next year’s show which will take place on Sunday 5th September.
If you have any ideas for changes to classes do let me know.

After a great effort by all the team the show is now open.

Thanks to everyone who has entered the show this year … it’s going to be a great one again.

The absolute latest the show will be open to the public … which is free of course … will be 2:30pm

We will almost certainly be open before this but i can’t be more precise as it depends on when the judging is complete … be assured as soon as the judging is competed and all 411 certificates have been written out we will open.

The signs at the club (which is open from 12:30pm for teas, coffees, BBQ & brass band playing) will show when we are open and I’ll also post on here.

Exhibitors … please note that bacon butties are available on the field again this year !

So todays the day to ensure that you have your entry form submitted. Thanks to all who have already done so.
Either post it through the show secretary’s door - 22 Tunnicliffe Road. (down by the village shop) before 7pm or then drop it into the Ex-Servicemen’s Club this evening, we’ll be there between 7pm & 10pm.
Still considering having a go this year .. please do … it’s a big marquee that we’d love to see full - everything you need can be found on the website

A Friendly Village Show - With A Warm Welcome Guaranteed 58th Annual Show Sunday 6th September 2026

So this time next week will be showtime.

Don’t forget next Sunday evening we have a fun filled evening in the club with cash bingo at 8pm (for non bingo fans don’t worry it’s just a quick 3 games), trophy presentation at 8:30pm and then all the fun of the auction … which kicks off at 9pm … all the family welcome … just please bring cash along for the evening’s festivities.

Entries are coming in nicely, you can drop them through my door this week … 22 Tunnicliffe Road, or the Ex-Servicemen’s Club will be open from 7pm-10pm on Friday evening to take your forms.

Please try and find just that one extra entry for us this year. All details on the show website www.suttonshow.co.uk

Still plenty of time to make a scarecrow and don’t forget they need to displayed from next Saturday.

Just a little appeal for help…

The two hardest parts of the show are setting out the marquee and then dismantling and getting produce back to the club for the auction.

With this in mind if anyone is free to give us a little help it would be so gratefully appreciated as follows.

1:30pm this Friday afternoon to set up and paper the tables.
4:30pm on Sunday afternoon to take the tables down etc.

And one more thing ….. if anyone can spare half an hour on Wednesday evening at 7pm, with a shovel & a barrow on the field to help with field cleansing that would be a big help.

Finally if on show day anyone has any spare boxes or egg boxes they could bring for us that would be great.

Any and all help greatly received.

Here’s hoping this years show is a cracker … we had over 1,000 exhibits last year and it would be great to get to this level again this year.

Let’s hope that the sun shines like it has all summer.

One area we’d like to see more entries in this year is our great scarecrow competition.

It’s free to enter and great prizes and a trophy up for grabs for the winner.
