Do you know what cupping is? ☕️

Cupping is a method used by roasters, producers, farmers and anyone with an interest in coffee. It is the easiest way to sample, analyse and test coffee.

It’s a simple way of brewing to get the taste of the coffee through. This can be used for purchasing decisions, roasting profiles, and checking the taste of the coffee. 😋

The idea of the ‘slurp’ when using the cupping spoon is to get air in the coffee to get the full flavour, and you taste and spit the coffee out (like in wine tasting).

Secret location revealed ☕🤝

Yesterday we took 30 runners on a route never been ran before, and ended up at a secret location to brew up with ☕

Imagine a beautiful run and coming across this set up in the woods with cinnamon buns and 5 differed coffees to try 🤩

It was such a mega morning big thanks to for providing the brew equipment and the prizes, of course we chucked in some Kickback coffee and some goodies ✨

Thanks to legend and KBC athlete for letting us use his amazing space 👊

Meet Toby 👋

You might recognise Toby from Flour, Water, Salt, but a few months ago, Toby made the jump to be a Kickbacker and took over running The Brickworks and HQ coffee shops! Safe to say he has had his hands full!

When he's not running the show, you'll find him getting properly lost in the Peaks on his road bike 🚴, hiking up in the hills 🥾, or hunting down the best coffee shops he can find.

Toby is a pourover guy through and through, something natural, funky, maybe even a co-ferment if we're feeling wild 😎 If the sun's out however, a nice refreshing Iced flattie☀️

The people have been the standout highlight for Toby across HQ, Brickworks and FWS 💚

Hey Juba 👋🍓🍫

This month’s featured coffee comes from Mexico, with taste notes of Red Berries and Chocolate Truffle 😋

Juba doesn’t come easy, and that’s exactly what makes it special.

Deep in the remote mountain ranges of Guerrero, Mexico, indigenous Me’phaa farmers tend tiny plots that look less like coffee farms and more like wild jungle gardens.

These farms are small, often less than a hectare, but they punch well above their weight.

Naturally processed and bursting with fruit-forward sweetness and a syrupy, indulgent body, Juba is a wild ride in the best possible way.
Whether you brew espresso, filter, or somewhere in between, Juba is roasted to highlight sweetness. ☕

Dare we speak about the weather? But the sun has been making an appearance more than ever, so why not switch up your morning coffee for a cold brew ☕️🧊

Ted (Team KBC) loves a cold brew, he has made it for us a few times recently and he has shared his recipie 👇

Ted’s Cold Brew Recipe 🧊

What you will need:
70g coarse-ground coffee (as coarse as the grinder will go)
1 litre of filtered water
1 strainer
1 cold brew jug or similar

1. Grind 70g of coffee as coarse as it will go.
2. Get the filter and pour in the ground coffee.
3. Slowly pour over the filtered water, stirring occasionally.
4. Leave the coffee to sit in the water for 24h, chilled in the fridge.
5. Serve poured over ice with an orange garnish.
6. Enjoy 🧊🍊

Let’s help Jacko smash this world record attempt 🙌

Head down to The Arches on any day 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th of June to join Jacko in his world record attempt of 200 marathons in 100 days, for 2 brain injury charities. 🤩

He will be running 10km loops at a social pace where anyone can join in to support him.

Everyone who joins in will get free coffee!

Bring big energy, we will bring big vibes - it will be a weekend to remember!
