📖Our story
The story of BC SoftWear begins in 2002 when our founder, Barbara Cooke, left behind a successful career in the technology sector. Seeking a new challenge, she discovered the wonderful world of Turkish towelling. Barbara started our company from home, naming it “BC SoftWear” from her initials and a play-on-words reflecting her previous role in the software industry. Listening to the pro
blems which hotel housekeepers experienced, Barbara was determined to give them a product which would stay whiter and softer for longer. The 100% cotton “Sumptuous” luxury towel was born and soon installed at prestigious hotels including the Cliveden Hotel, The Savoy, Claridges and The Dorchester. Over the years, we’ve applied the same innovative thinking to expand our range. It now includes bathrobes, spa linen (couch covers and towels) and footwear (slippers and flip-flops). We also offer bespoke embroidery, jacquard and labelling services, suited to recreating logos in intricate detail, or simply making sure you remember whose bathrobe is whose. Our towels grace some of the most exclusive hotels and spas in the world. The quality and practicality of our products have made them a popular choice for smaller hotels, spas and beauty salons. Many people also enjoy the touch of our luxury towelling in their own homes.
⚗Solving your problems
We take a keen interest in the needs of our clients and pride ourselves on being the first to have solved many of their problems. In developing our products, we ensure that they dry quickly and absorb the minimum oil, saving you laundry time and money. Our innovative head holes were the first on the market for spas and salons, increasing the comfort for your clients and keeping your couches clean. And, thanks to us, your largest massage tables can be covered with just one jumbo or extra-large cover, making it quicker for you to redress rooms.
🌍Protecting the environment
We are dedicated to protecting our environment. You can offer your guests our biodegradable carry bags and, in dry areas, our biodegradable slippers. Plus, with our wider environmental initiatives, you can be confident that you’re purchasing from a company which shares your desire to protect our planet. We’re working hard to find more ways to reuse and recycle our products and packaging, including removing cellophane bags and seeking opportunities to recycle flip-flops. Our initiatives have already reduced our single-use plastic by 50 tonnes a year.
