Vintage Wooden Shoe Cleaning Storage Box with Shoe Rest.
Lovely box with shoe last on the top to fit shoes whilst cleaning. Box contains original vintage contents (brown polish tin is empty but a great tin so have included). 5 brushes with quality wooden handles and 2 retro plastic ones, 3 polishes (2 black, one brown (empty), a wire suede brush and a couple of pieces of small cleaning cloth.
The hinges have been replaced at some point to rather nice brass ones and the top part of the front catch is missing. Stained inside but a really lovely authentic piece of vintage home ware.

Another beautiful wooden jigsaw, this one being 250 pieces and of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother wearing the Diamond Diadem and the Order of the Garter sash.

A few minor little chips on a few pieces but nothing that detracts. This is a 1950’s piece.

I spent so long doing the jigsaw, I went into a trance and packed it up forgetting to measure it! 😂 Please see my podge hand as a reference in picture 2!

Beautiful rare 230 wooden piece 1948 jigsaw of Princess Elizabeth.

The original painting was by Welsh artist Margaret Lindsay Williams in 1947.

The rarity comes from it being made prior to Elizabeth’s Coronation to become Queen in 1953.

The jigsaw is complete and in wonderful condition for 78 years old. There is one tiny missing piece of paper missing from one piece and a few lifts on some edges but these are simple to glue back down if you prefer.

The jigsaw size is 19.3cm x 26.4cm and fits into its box which is 22cm x 29.2cm.
The wooden pieces are 3mm thick.

The box is in great condition bar a small tear on one edge.

A hard one to part with but to be enjoyed again!

This Readers Digest First Edition is from 1977 and is jam packed with home design and everything you need to know on weights, food, upholstery, sewing! The pictures look like a Habitat catalogue (before Argos got their hands on them!) and it’s a fab coffee table book for those who loved this era!

Very pretty vintage 1970’s Cashs Woven Silk Picture - ‘Purple Emperor and Spear Thistle’. Cashs are the same folk who are renowned for name tapes and other woven products. Have a read of the history on the back of the piece as it’s fascinating!

Overall size 26.5cm tall x 17cm wide x 1.3cm deep.
Image area 16.0cm x 7.0cm wide.

Mounted with a sage green mount in a matt gold wood frame, glazed, and fitted with a hanging loop.

A beautifully detailed example from Cashs Butterflies and Wild Flower series.

One corner is slightly open on the mitre but re-masked on the back would close this.

We owe a lot to this chap… Helios, the Greek God of Sun!

‘In ancient Greek mythology, Helios is the Titan god who personifies the Sun. He is best known for driving a magnificent, golden, horse-drawn chariot across the sky each day, bringing light to the world’. What a hero!!

This has some decent age to it, I think mid century although the marble base looks more modern.

He stands at 20cm tall on a base of 11cm x 5.8cm.

Antique early 1900s Burgon and Ball Sheep / Topiary Shears. Burgon and Ball are one of my favourite garden tool manufacturers and are still very much in business.

These are still sharp, could be cleaned up really well but very useable as they are, whether you have sheep or box balls! 😂
