I don’t remember exactly when it happened.
But I remember who opened the door...
And let me tell you, it wasn't a lecture or a book.
It was somebody...
Somebody who sat in darkness, cried, found what she was crying for, and then finally departed this world for the meeting she had longed for.
Bibi Sukainah (SA).
And somehow, through her, others opened their doors to me, one by one.
Imam Hussain (as).
Ghazi Abbas (as).
Maula Ali (as).
Sayyida Zahra (sa) (waiting for next ones).
And the more i learned about them, the more i realized something:
Each one of us don’t all meet the Ahlulbayt (as) in the same way.
Someone’s love pulls you in.
Someone’s patience does.
Someone's loyalty.
And sometimes, it’s a story you hear once and can never forget.
Sometimes it’s a name your child keeps asking about.
Sometimes it’s one person they just connect with.
And that’s the part we need to remember when we’re raising children.
Instead of handing them the whole journey at once.
You just have to help them find the first step.
The first story.
The first name.
The FIRST personality who makes them want to know more.
For me, that person was Bibi Sukainah (sa).
Maybe your's was someone else.
Maybe your child’s will be too.
So don't force the door open.
Find the one that's already waiting for them.
Then late them walk through.
Then let them walk through.
Here’s my order:
Sukainah → Hussain → Abbas → Ali → Hassan → Zahra → Mohammad → Allah
And while you’re helping your child find their doorway,
maybe take a moment to remember yours.
Who was the first person who opened that door for you?
Who was your starting point?
Here's mine, BTW:
Sukainah → Hussain → Abbas → Ali → Hassan → Zahra → Mohammad → Allah
