Watch me chainsaw carve this special German Shepherd memorial for a much-loved dog called Cooper.

Every custom carving I make tells a story, and this one was especially meaningful. Using photos of Cooper, I carefully carved his likeness to create a unique keepsake that his family can treasure forever.

One of my favourite details was a special request from his owner, to carve Cooper's mouth so it could hold his favourite tennis ball. I thought it was such a lovely way to remember him and keep a little part of his personality alive.
It's always an honour to create pieces like this, and I'm so grateful to be trusted with such special memories.

This is just a quick video to show you something super cool that happens to fungal infected wood, it's called spalting and creates some awesome patterns! I decided to make some mushrooms with this gorgeous spalted wood, a fungal infection of a fungus! 🤓😆

Maybe this is a bit daft to make a video on, but it really cheered me up after carving on a very hot day and feeling like everything was going wrong (after accidently cutting off a foot I shouldn't have 🤦).

Just a reminder to appreciate those little wins, no matter how small and seemingly daft, they matter and can make a bad day a good day if you let them 😊

I can't believe it's been a year since I first picked up a chainsaw and my whole life changed!

Since then, I've created Nom's Carvings, my very own chainsaw carving business, and I couldn't be more proud of how far it's come.

My story isn't unique. So often, people discover their passion during their lowest moments. What matters is having the courage to take that first step.

I hope this post inspires you to try that thing you've always dreamed of doing but never thought was possible.

Just go for it!

It won't always be easy, but when you truly love what you do, the hard work feels worthwhile. One year ago, I never imagined I'd be here.
