This beautiful jumpsuit had a thin spot where the tag has been removed, the hole was only going to get bigger. So instead of hiding it, I stitched it using tiny sashiko stitches in orange and blue, working over the weak point of the hole. It’s still a beautiful jumpsuit but now one that’s been given a second life.

Got something with a hole or a thin patch? Bring it along to a mending session MEET, MAKE & MEND and we’ll stitch it together. 🧵

I’m 5ft nothing and these jeans are 6ft something. The story of my life!

These gorgeous jeans fit everywhere except the bit that matters, which is the length. So instead of a plain hem, I’m turning them up and stitching the hem in Sashiko on the outside because the beauty of these stitches is, they are not just for mending they can also be about making your clothes a bit of your own character. Nothing like giving your ankles a bit of style right 🤔🤩

Am I the only one with short girl problems? 😄

I have exciting NEWS. I did a thing!

I’ve created The ‘MENDED BY YOU’ kit because I wanted to hand people a skill, not just a product.

After 35 years of making and mending, I know how much it matters to be able to rescue something you love. Visible mending is what I care about the most, our garments have value and the repair is just part of their story.

For too long now we’ve been taught to hide a mend, as if a patch or a darn were something to be ashamed of and I would love to change that view for you. Every stitch you learn to mend with, means one less thing thrown away and a favourite piece that stays in your life for much longer. I want people to wear their mends with pride and I hope this kit gives you the confidence to start that journey.

Inside your kit is a little Sashiko needle pack, thread, a pre-marked pattern sheet, reloved fabrics to practice on and a booklet to gently guide you, as well as something a little special to celebrate your mend, all tucked into a cotton bag.

TEN kits go live online on:

SUNDAY 1st NOVEMBER at 6PM

Everyone who gets one of these 10 will find a small extra gift tucked inside.

Then on 21st NOVEMBER, The Mended By You Kit launches at Eyam Christmas Market, where you be able to buy it from.

Set a reminder and tell me: what’s the one thing in your wardrobe you would love to mend and keep?

Starting today 🤩

Every Monday from the 19th October 2026 we will be joining the wonderful meet and make group at Masson Mills in Matlock Bath and we're bringing mending with us.

Whether you want to learn to mend visibly and beautifully, pick up sashiko for the first time, work on your own making a project or simply want to come and sit in a room full of warm, creative people and do something good with your hands.

Between us Netty-Lou, Jackie Howard Andrea Cooper and Caroline, we bring decades of combined experience in textiles, making, mending and slow stitch. But more than that we bring a genuine love of sitting alongside people and helping them find their confidence with a needle and thread. Nobody will be left wondering what to do or feel out of their depth. We will be right there with you.

No experience needed and no booking required.

Just making, mending and good company in one of the most beautiful textile heritage buildings in Derbyshire.

Every Monday from 19th October · 10am-12 noon · Masson Mills · Matlock Bath
