We had the distinct pleasure of working on this gorgeous 1952 Gibson 125 recently. There had been a bad binding repair in the past that the owner wanted rectifying as well as intonation issues with the original wooden bridge and a lack of scratch plate.

We touched up the binding with Royalite and blended it in before sealing with nitorlack golden age spray, the owner was thrilled with the end result.

We also had our good friends at make this amazing replica scratch plate, give them a shout if you ever need any custom scratch plates! Jack (of fame!) is an old friend and him and the team do incredible work.

Finally we aged the tuners which were new and far too shiny for a guitar like this, provided art of aging pickguard mounts and fitted an aged nickel ABR-1 and saved the wooden bridge for posterity before giving the frets a polish and the guitar a good clean!

Evening!
We’ve been super quiet on the posts lately but we’ve just had a very busy few months! 🥳

So I thought I’d post a pic of some of the lovely guitars we’ve had in for repair/restring/R&R! It’s feeling very autumnal at the moment, just like this colour palette 🍁

It was a tale of two Ibanez today in the workshop with Vic, from an Ibanez Gio requiring an emergency rewire to a gorgeous top of the range Japanese Prestige in for a fret dress and setup! 😍

😍 A stunning parlour guitar that came in recently.
A good parlour guitar is a magical thing, its small, slim bodied design harks back to the earliest guitars, with roots in the baroque era. I’ve always thought they sounded great playing some roots blues though!

Every instrument tells a story. This lovely old 60s Yamaha at some point in its life had its bridge ground removed and mysteriously shortened. Perhaps by accident. The quick thinking surgeon then simply screwed it to the unsheilded main cavity wall resulting in inevitable grounding issues.

We left the original for posterity and wired a nice new bridge ground in and hey presto, no more buzzes!

A gorgeous Taylor 424ce LTD edition in for an NT neck reset under warranty. We got it back to playing like the stunning instrument it is 😎🤩
