One of the things I absolutely love about what I do is creating private commissions.
I think it’s such an honour when someone invites me into their home and trusts me to create something completely bespoke for them — particularly when they haven’t seen the finished design and are simply trusting me to bring their vision, for their home to life.
A lovely friend of mine recently bought this humongous pot — and when I say humongous, I mean humongous! If it had been wider at the top, I’m pretty sure I could have climbed inside it and hidden!
She wanted something very natural and earthy, with a slightly whimsical feel to complement both the pot and the summer house it sits in. She particularly loves pampas grass, and she had also gathered some beautiful dried allium heads from her neighbour’s garden, which were just perfect for the design.
So I set to work creating this rather spectacular display, standing at around five feet tall.
I combined pampas grass, dried alliums, silk eucalyptus, silk magnolia foliage, silk bulrushes, silk p***y willow and silk millet to create something that feels beautifully wild, natural and effortlessly elegant.
And the best part?
She sat on the sofa while I created it. We chatted away, the doors were wide open, and we looked out across the countryside while I worked.
It honestly didn’t feel like work at all.
It felt like an absolute pleasure.
And seeing how thrilled she was with the finished piece made the whole experience even more special.
This is exactly why I love bespoke botanical design. It isn’t about taking something from a catalogue or choosing something that’s already been made. It’s about creating something that belongs specifically to you, your home and your style.
So, if you have a beautiful container, pot or vase that you love but feel it needs something extra to really elevate it, get in touch.
I would absolutely love to collaborate with you and create something truly spectacular, completely bespoke and uniquely yours.
