We’ve had lots of various comments re the show. The main one I would like to address while it’s still buzzing around is the fact that some people think the Minster Show is run and paid for by Minster Parish Council. So why should the public pay to get in? 100% not true!
Although MPC allow us to use the venue. The Minster Show aka Flower show is run by a committee of 9 women and one man and help from family, friends and a few supporters and is self funded.
We are all volunteers who have to not only organise this event but we have to somehow raise around £9000 to cover the costs. Main contributions to this are Gate Takings, Grand Draw and stall fees along with a few donations which we are much appreciative of.
Our gate staff had a lot of comments this year re the admission of £4 and under 5’s free. Plus we have received other comments directly saying we make loads of money and are all commercial.
We have to pay for the Show tent, Music tent, toilets, Insurance, PA System, Entertainment, Music license, Security, Cup Engraving, supplies etc
So this post is just to quell this rumour before we answer the other “ feed back” we have received after the show.
