We are absolutely chuffed to announce that Lancashire County Council have agreed to fund us at this lateish stage in the proceedings! After a massive struggle to achieve funding this year which has included a fair few knock backs and tested our resilience, this funding will make a huge difference to the event!

We want to thank Spacehive and LCSF who have agreed to change our crowdfund to a keep what you earn model after we had struggled to find the last final amount of funding to take us across the finish line of the crowdfund in time for our deadline! We want to thank LCC for funding the project and taking the steps to make sure that this project is delivered. We look forwards to bringing this event to the local community in less than a months time!

We have amazing partnerships with Visual Artists Association (VAA) Escape2Make (E2M) Good Things Collective CIC Assembly Arts Lancaster Film Initiative (LFI) Ironpress Printmaking and The Gregson Centre who are running different workshops and demos throughout the fair, each bringing a little bit of what makes them special ❤️ watch out for our events programme coming out with details of what will be happening throughout the event!

We love Heidi's take on the hills of the local area, can't wait to have you as part of the show Heidi Schramli

'The ‘Poets panels’ are inspired by the earliest visitors to the Cumbrian fells who were intimidated and overawed by the ‘vast and terrifying magnificence’of landscape. I am attempting to evoke this shock and awe in my pieces but on a small scale. I also try share the sense of my own experience of walking through the landscape, with the ever-changing horizon inviting us to keep walking and see what’s beyond.The Poets Panels are created by fusing steel with oxyacetylene. Wire is added to the frame and then layered with paper and a mix of acrylic inks
and other media which is left to blend gently. The translucency of the pieces adds an ethereal feel, offering a suggestion of the wild landscape.In my Ink drawings, the dip pen is used
spontaneously to create majesty and scale but in the tiniest of mark making. This is almost ‘auto drawing’ allowing for serendipity and surprise.I am based in Ambleside and sell my work through several galleries and shops in Cumbria and Lancashire.'

Welcoming Gerald Fitzgerald to Lancaster Art Fair 2026, we love Gerald's unique painting style and are so excited to see his new pieces this August!

'Gerald Fitzgerald has recently moved to Lancaster after living and working as a commercial artist in Cambridge for several years. Initially trained as an illustrator for his first degree then Fine art for his MA, eventually working in the games industry but Gerald always wanted to go back to his first love of painting.Gerald is originally from Salford, and his move back up north instigated a change of direction for him,finally realising his dream to go back to painting.He has exhibited at the
Lancaster arts Fair and had local exhibitions to develop his style and artistic voice, becoming more painter than designer. Influenced by various artists from Stephen Conroy, Victoria Crowe, Andrew Wyeth and Amy Drury,Gerald has put together a theme of people and places.

He draws heavily from collage and his digital background too for inspiration making a mix of representation and abstracted forms. Using his experience in abstraction and digital art Gerald is developing new forms of representation to depict recognisable scenes. Gerald is Portraying a sense of fun in
representing different characters and scenes from a life. Slightly magical realist, figurative and with a sense of playfulness. Gerald has put together exhibitions to show case his art that are thought provoking and crafted.Gerald is hoping to capture characters and scenes that will be enigmatic and decorative whilst still having some sense of mystery. His work delves into the layered identities of his figures and portraits, blending nostalgia with a touch of abstraction.
In his paintings, colours dance across the canvas, echoing the spirit of a bygone era yet resonating with contemporary themes. Each piece invites viewers to step into a world brimming with a celebration imagination.Gerald's art stands as a testament to his poetic exploration of the people and places he depicts.'

We are excited to announce our first exhibitor for Lancaster Art Fair 2026

Based in the Lake District, artist Lindsay Oliphant creates paintings inspired by the natural world
and the impressive Cumbrian landscape that surrounds her. Her work aims to communicate
nature's powerful ability to affect our emotions. Working in grounded earthy colour palettes, she
tries to bring a sense of calm and connection through her compositions. Whether drawing from a
particular landscape or working more intuitively, her practice is guided by emotion, atmosphere,
and a sense of place. Often inspired by movement within the landscape, or the shifting light
patterns across the fells, she aims to create a moment of escape for the viewer, a place for them
to get lost in their own memories and experiences.
