Dolly Parton
January 19, 1946 – August 25, 2026
There are some people who somehow become part of all our lives, even if we never had the privilege of knowing them personally. Dolly Parton was one of those people.
She was a force for good in a world that desperately needs it. She showed us that you can be successful without losing your kindness, humility or compassion. She cared about people — genuinely, deeply and consistently. She used her voice, success and platform not simply to make a name for herself, but to lift others up.
Dolly was a fighter, too. She never pretended life was always easy. She worked, struggled, persevered and kept going, while holding onto her warmth and sense of humour. She showed generations that strength doesn't have to be hard or cruel. Sometimes strength looks like kindness. Sometimes it looks like helping someone when nobody is watching.
She was a role model in the truest sense. Not because she was perfect, but because she understood something so many of us forget: that being a good human being matters.
And perhaps that's why this feels so strangely personal. It feels like we've all lost an Aunt. That beloved, larger-than-life Aunt who somehow made you feel everything would be alright. The one who could make you laugh, believe in yourself, and remind you there was still goodness in the world.
Calling Dolly an angel almost doesn't seem like enough. She spent her life bringing light to other people's lives and became something close to a saint — not through perfection, but through the sheer amount of love, generosity and goodness she gave away.
The world feels a little less bright without her.
Thank you, Dolly, for showing us how to be strong without losing our softness, successful without losing our humanity, and never too famous to reach back and help someone who needed it. ❤️
