Why perfumery is fascinating and not always easy to understand?
Can you easily recognise materials in it?
If you look at the notes in your perfume and find: patchouli, rose or bergamot.. It doesn't mean they are there in pure oil form. Patchouli can be created using earthy , mossy notes(without using patchouli essential oil), Bergamot-using different types of Linalool, Rose-well... The absolute you may wish to, can be just a blend of Citronellol, Geraniol and PEA.
Other things... There's many Cedarwood types( Virgina,Texas, Atlas, Himalaya, Alaska-my favourite :) Each one smells different.
Plus, it's many different manufacturers and suppliers.
Last thing- proportion/dilution. Making enormous different in a formula.
Learning and collecting materials never ends 😅

'Christmas can be a season of significant contrasts, intermingling sorrow and joy, dark and light'
In opposite to colorful all shiny things around, I've made these matte, veiled ladies.
I wanted to achive mossy, old sculpture effect on candles and here they are 😉
The other version will be rust on pastel pink.
And I do like darkness and creepy stuff as you know already 😁

You may have seen the Veil Maiden design as a pillar candle, but this time, I crafted a soap 💧
I wanted to achieve a rusty effect-that captures the look and feel of the fall season to me..
This is the first version.The pink blush and corroded tones rise from nourishing powders.

Over the past month, I've made small batch of gourmand type candles. Delicious scents of :salted caramel, creamy cinnamon, maple & pecan, spiced latte, mulled wine🫠
Simple style, 250ml amber glass jar, filled with mouthwatering fragrances.
These can be an addition to your hot tea and fresh pies,creating a feeling of warmth.
I wasted no time also in the kitchen(.Not the prettiest 😅) Bramley & carrot cake is a truly a sign of upcoming autumn 🍁

I’ve been making natural skincare products for a few years now. I’ve dived deep into the world of beautiful botanical extracts, essential oils, absolutes (well, some I absolutely hate on their own — carrot seed oil, benzoin, or petitgrain, to name a few). Hundreds tested, still many to discover. But the world of synthetic notes is something I’m obsessed with. Totally addictive.
Currently, I’m working with new notes in my collection, and it’s a long process. I experienced smell blindness to certain fragrance materials like Cedramber- a heavy molecule, surprisingly not to Galaxolide 😅
Still training my nose though. It’s a lengthy journey of learning, similarly fascinating, with never-ending possibilities for creation.
