The hardest thing about business? Knowing when to call it a day….

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that we are closing our lovely little family business & that Friday 31st March will be our final trading day 💔

Unfortunately, the costs into our business have increased significantly over the last year & despite making adjustments to offset the increases, the surge in energy costs, drop in home deliveries & reduced footfall have left us with no option.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision, which had to be made with our heads not our hearts!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to each & every one of you that has shopped with us & supported our dream over the last 3 & a half years, we wouldn’t have come this far without you.

Our journey, for those who don’t know ❤️

In September 2019 our journey to run a family village shop taking over the business after nearly 20 years from my mum and dad.

Gareth & I both had our own full time jobs (and I still do) alongside running the business…

2020 sent us a global pandemic which none of us could have predicted, and 3 national lockdowns were to follow over the next two years;
2 very important people in our lives died unexpectedly Gareth’s mum Joyce and my dear Sister Debbie these deaths left us all shaken to the core;
Liz Truss…….proposing a mini budget;
The Ukraine war! Which for the UK meant supply and material shortages caused by ongoing geopolitical unrest;
Energy prices soaring to catastrophic levels…..pretty much an avalanche of difficult challenges!

So much has impacted our little business in 3 1/2 years, but we struggled through we successfully adapted to the lockdown situation and provided our customers with a food outlet, often making regular deliveries etc to the doors of our regulars who were in isolation.

During these times we were, and will always be, very grateful to our loyal customers who supported us

Special thanks go to each of our staff team for all their dedication and hard work throughout the most challenging times

Small businesses are tough! We gave it our all and of that we are proud
We have great memories to take away from this ❤️
It has been hard work, undoubtedly but an experience we will never forget …….
