Doggy Freshers’ Prom is now live to book on the Collar App!

To finish off Ry’s Freshers’ Week, we’re throwing the biggest celebration of the year, our Doggy Freshers’ Prom!

Freshers week starts on the 31st of August 2026 with the Doggy Freshers Prom on Friday 4th of September!

Expect a day full of fun with games, enrichment, treats, prom photos, decorations and, of course, every dog will head home with their very own graduation certificate.

Dress up is highly encouraged! We love to see your pups looking glamorous in their prom outfits!

If your dog hasn’t been to daycare for a little while, now’s the perfect time to book a re-induction so they don’t miss out on the celebrations.

Know someone who’s never been to Ry’s? Tell your friends and family to book their dog in for an induction so they can join the fun too. We’d love to welcome some new faces to our biggest event of the year.

Good afternoon everyone, Ryan here.

Just a small update and a quick one before I get told off for working whilst on holiday.

As some of you may know but Alanna and I are on holiday in Greece. We are having a lovely time away and a much needed break after just over 2 and half years without a break so, much needed!

Well... I proposed and she said yes! Before you ask, I did run this past both Poppy and Louise before leaving for Greece and they both agreed that I have left it far too long and should have down it sooner!

We are very happy and enjoying ourselves in the sun. We both look forward to seeing you all when we are home on the 5th July.

Last night marked week 5 of Ry's Play and Train Puppy Course. It was great to see Jayne and all the staff at Pet Doctors IOW and Medina Vets as always.

As you can see from the post below, we have just released the next course start and end dates. This can be found on our 'events' section of this page.

“My dog listens to the trainer… but not to me.” - This is something I hear from owners all the time.

The reason is simple, the trainer might understand the dog, but the owner hasn’t yet been shown how to communicate clearly and consistently.

That’s why my training process starts with the owner.
“The Problem Usually Isn’t the Dog… It’s the Communication.”

Step 1 – Behaviour Consultation (Up to 2 hours)
The first session is owner-focused, and the dog does not attend.
This allows us to concentrate fully on understanding what’s really going on.
During this consultation we look at:
• Health and nutrition
• Your dog’s history and important previous events
• What’s going well – day to day
• What you need help with
• Practical training and management strategies you can start using immediately
You’ll leave with clear actions to practise at home AND all the notes from the session.

Step 2 – Follow-Up Session (2 weeks later and lasts for 1 and half hours)
Two weeks later we meet again.
This gives you time to practise what we discussed and experience the ‘real-world’ challenges that come with it.
In this session we:
• Review the progress you’ve made
• Answer any questions that have come up
• Adjust strategies if needed
• Introduce further training guidance
This step is about building confidence and consistency.

Step 3 – Street Obedience Session
Once the foundations are in place, we move to practical training with your dog present.
This session focuses on on-lead work and real-world obedience, helping you apply everything you’ve learned in everyday situations.

Why This Process Works -

Because training doesn’t stop when the session ends.

You’re not just learning commands — you’re learning how to communicate with your dog clearly and consistently every day.
And that’s where real change happens.

Hey everyone, we hope you are well and ready for the Isle of Wight heatwave! Suns out, guns out and all that jazz!

Just a few stats from a random week in May 2026.
- 80 x dogs have passed through our doors from Mon - Fri this week
- 2 x inductions passed
- 2 - re-inductions passed
- 12 x Shop & Drop in's
- 7 x Dog Behavioural Training Sessions since the start of May
- 2- Onsite Play and Train Dog Training sessions
- 2 x Ry's Play and Train Puppy Courses
- 4 x human interviews for the newest position within Ry's
- 6 x orders of Paleo Ridge since the start of the month (we cannot keep our freezers full!!)

Safe to say we are busy bee's but we could always be busier. Fortunately, these types of numbers are average for us. If you have been thinking about getting in touch, dropping your dog off into Day Care or bringing them back.
