A proper slice of Cornish history…

The Hevva Cake is one of Cornwall’s oldest traditional bakes, created by the wives of Cornish fishermen. When the “Hevva!” call rang out across the cliffs — signalling a shoal of pilchards — the fishers rushed home, and their families baked a quick, hearty traybake to feed them after long hours at sea.

Soft, lightly sweet, dotted with currants and finished with a simple criss‑cross pattern, the Hevva Cake remains a true taste of Cornwall’s heritage.

Now you can enjoy this traditional Cornish favourite delivered nationwide from The Cornwall Hamper Company — perfect for gifting, sharing, or adding a little Cornish nostalgia to your day.
