Did you catch Saving Lives at Sea last night? The episode featured Crantock Lifeguards, supported by Newquay Lifeboats worked together to save two people who had got into trouble while kayaking off West Pentire headland in July 2024. We are thrilled that viewers will get to see the professionalism and dedication of our teams in action. If you missed it, you can catch up on iplayer here

Sadly, after celebrating the lifeguards incredible work, we discovered this morning that a secure container at Crantock had been broken into overnight and RNLI lifeguard’s all-terrain vehicle (registration WA18 CHH) stolen. This is essential lifesaving equipment, paid for by our generous donors and is vital for allowing our lifeguards to respond to incidents quickly on the beach at Crantock.

During the break in, damage was sustained to the container, which is owned and used by the local Crantock Surf Lifesaving Club, another charity that is run by volunteers and reliant on donations. We’re so disappointed this has happened, particularly at this point in the season as it’s been an incredibly busy period for all lifesavers at Crantock.
