We loved reading the comments on a social media post a while ago about the rules you all happily ignore in bag making and sewing. We decided to make a video sharing our favourite comments. Jo struggled with a few of these as you can see 😅

After a reel we posted last week left more people feeling confused rather than being helpful we wanted to show you this technique in a little more detail.
It can be so easy to get wonky flaps on your bags and as they are usually the focal point on the front, it’s worth putting in a bit of extra effort to get them looking good 👌🏽
Hopefully this clears up any confusion from last week’s video. Let us know what you think 😊

A little behind the scenes peek at the making of the tutorial for our latest pattern the Teloujay mini bucket bag.
There’s a surprising amount that goes into filming a bag making tutorial- the setting up, making sure you’re filming from all angles, the editing! so we loved having someone else do that hard work for us, and all I had to concentrate on was remembering what I’m doing while the camera is rolling 😅
We loved collaborating with another local sewing business, thank you

A few weeks ago I shared a post on Facebook asking, “What’s something another bag maker taught you, that you’ll never forget?”

And for me, it was how using a zip foot and stabiliser creates a perfect curve on a flap. Just like I show in this video.

The stabiliser gives your zip foot a perfect shape to follow, almost like a little wall for your presser foot to trace around. Because the zip foot traces around the shape of the stabiliser, then when you turn the flap out, the stabiliser is a perfect fit and your finished flap looks amazing, with a neater curve than most of us can sew without the stabiliser.

This is a tip I’ve never forgotten and still use regularly! Make sure to save so you don’t forget and share this tip with another bag maker!
