Hey guys, just wanted to do a little post about our Business and specifically sealed prices. We are a second hand business, and we have a Pokémon shop predominantly selling Pokemon cards, which we sell at current market price using eBay solds (the same way most second hand businesses work).
We also sell sealed products which we buy from customers second hand, which they likely got at RRP. But we pay a high percentage of current market and sell it at current market value.
We unfortunately donât have a supplier for Pokemon sealed due to the high demand of businesses on the waiting list and weâre a very small business compared. Trust me we have triedâŠ
If we could source it for under retail, we would sell to our locals at retail, because we know how frustrating it is, but itâs just not possible for us. We donât have that luxury.
So instead we try very hard to get sealed in at a very high percentage to make 10% on if weâre lucky. This will have our flat rate tax and corporation tax taken from it too. So it really isnât as good as selling single cards for us. But we try to stock it so that people can get a chance to buy the sealed they want locally and weekly.
Without having the sealed I donât think people would come to the shop as often. To be told we are selling things at scalper prices is just not accurate. We are selling it at current market price and even if we disagree with the price of the product, we donât make those prices. I know we canât please everyone but just wanted to let people know how we operate.
