Okay… but is it REALLY bamboo?! 👀

This incredible Indonesian specimen is often called “Fossil Bamboo” Agate but here’s the twist… they’re not actually fossilised bamboo!

The name comes from the Indonesian term “Japanese Bamboo”, referring to a horsetail rush plant.

Millions of years ago, plant material was buried beneath volcanic ash. Silica rich fluids then worked their magic, replacing and coating the plant structures with layers of chalcedony. Which then created these amazing hollow, ridged, finger like formations.

So what looks like ancient bamboo is actually a beautiful little piece of volcanic history with a bit of mineral magic ✨

And honestly… geology never fails to surprise me! 😍

This one is available for just £40!
