~ 𝐇 𝐄 𝐘 𝐇 𝐄 𝐘 𝐇 𝐄 𝐘 ~

Just popping on with a quick health update, as promised.

But first, thank you soooo much for all of the lovely comments and messages after my last post. You guys are amazing 🤩.

So, PET scan results were a bit of a mixed bag. No cancer was identified in any lymph nodes or any organs but the join in my bowel from my last surgery did light up. They aren’t sure what it is. It could be cancer recurrence or inflammation, etc. My local colorectal team have sent the scan results to my Basingstoke consultants to get their thoughts.

Overall I think it’s a positive result really. It not being in my lymphatic system or any other organs is such a huge relief! Now I just have to be patient and wait on Basingstoke to do their thing.
I shall pop another update on when I know more.

• 𝐇 𝐀 𝐏 𝐏 𝐘 𝐍 𝐄 𝐖 𝐘 𝐄 𝐀 𝐑 •

Reflecting on 2023, it’s been a year of very little creating in terms of jewellery making, and in all honesty I don’t know if that will change any time soon.

I’ve been channelling my creative side into my painting more recently (I’ve shared my latest piece below 🙈). I’m really enjoying attempting to teach myself a new skill, and definitely recommend anyone giving it a go…painting, making jewellery, anything crafty etc. it really does help with your mindset.

Now on to the cancer front (I’ve had a few lovely message checking in recently so thought I’d give an update). I’ve been unbelievably fortunate to have had three years with no evidence of disease (NED) which is amazing. However, last year my tumour marker levels were gradually rising, and the last blood test showed that it is as high as it’s ever been. The CT shows no sign of cancer on any of my organs but does show an enlarged mesenteric lymph node (not got a clue? No, me neither 🙄). So I’m booked in tomorrow for a PET scan over in Hull to investigate further. I’m keeping everything crossed that it’s nothing sinister 🤞🏻.

I hope that explains why things are quiet on the jewellery front. Plus I’ve fallen out of love with the ‘selling’ side of social media, it all feels a bit a forced and bulls**ty of late. Is it just me?

Anyhoo I’m going to stop rambling on and get on with wishing you all health, happiness and resilience for the year ahead 🖤

~ L𝐎N𝐆 𝐓I𝐌E N𝐎 𝐒P𝐄A𝐊 ~

Hello!! I’ve been AWOL again. Since my last post there has been scans, a colonoscopy, my 40th birthday and covid. After 3 years it finally got me, and we were on our flippin’ jollies at the time - sods bloody law!

Amongst all of that, I’ve acquired a new hobby. I wanted some art for my hallway but couldn’t justify spending a fortune so, after falling down a YouTube video rabbit hole, I thought I’d give it a go myself. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing but I love it. Very therapeutic!

I closed the website last month as my jewellery mojo was still nonexistent but this weekend I’ve felt inspired to get back to the bench, so that’s the plan for this week. I’m determined to create a piece of jewellery for myself - I’ll keep you updated ☺️.

P.s. All tests clear, and tumour markers raised but stable. I’m taking each day as it comes and keeping everything crossed that it’s just a blip 🤞🏻 xx

Well hello…long time no post 👋

My June & Co. mojo has done a bunk these last few months. There have been various reasons, the main one being that my tumour marker levels have been gradually rising since February.

These blood tests are usually a good indicator for me that the cancer is lurking about somewhere. However, I’ve had a scan and the fabulous team at the Peritoneal Malignancy Unit in Basingstoke have looked over it (as well my amazing local consultants) and none of them can see any signs of active cancer.

Whilst this is fantastic news, we’re approaching any celebrating with caution. CT scans don’t show anything under approx. 5mm in size, so the pesky cancer cells can still be doing their thing, but at least we will have caught it early if that is the case.

So, it’s a ‘watch and wait’ approach for now. (with a ‘lovely’ colonoscopy thrown in the mix 🤢 - if you know, you know).

So in terms of June & Co….I’m going to tidy the workbench up tomorrow in the hope that it reignites some sort creativity…maybe design/create something new, we’ll see.

I’ve been a bit quiet on the old social media front recently because, in all honesty, it was driving me mad 🤯.

I got a tad frustrated about the fact I was spending more time trying to come up with content for the page than actually making jewellery. It felt like it was taking over my life!

I basically spat my dummy out and went on strike for a couple of weeks.

Huge thanks for everyone that has still placed an order whilst I’ve been sulking.

As of today I’ve let it go - I’ll be posting and sharing what I can/want to share and when I want to share it - basically the algorithm can go 🤬 itself!
