Childrens introduction to dressmaking part 2. WOW what a morning did we all have. The Pyjamas slowly came together and yes my young ladies became best friends with the seam ripper. But it was a wonderful learning curve for us all. There were mistakes made and also lots of wonderful sewing too. We had four long bottoms and one pair of shorts. But the best thing was we had five proud girls happy to show off their pyjama bottoms wearing them with pride.
I have loved every minute. 😀

Well I am home now after my first children's dressmaking workshop. I am so happy because part 1 has gone so well.
Part 2 tomorrow.
They learnt so quickly that I was able to add the inseam pocket. I was not sure how much time they would need but they picked everything up so quickly and sewed away happily. Today was learning about the straight grain transferring of markings and cutting out correctly. It was then time to neaten the edges which they did with either a zig zag stitch or they used their overlocker foot if their machine had one.
Finally today ended with attaching the inseam pocket.
The full construction will happen tomorrow.
If we have time I am hoping they can make a small project with some of their left over fabric.

How excited am I this morning. Today I have my first pyjama bottoms workshop for children. I am so looking forward to helping these five young ladies start their dressmaking journey.

Just to give an update on the Crafters Retreat. Not only will we have pop up shops but we are waiting for confirmation that we will also be bringing you some workshops too so if you like you can try a new Craft.
Further information to follow.
If you are thinking about joining us get in touch and get your place confirmed.
We are going on Wednesday to sort out the room configuration so I will take some photos for you to have a peak at the room.
We have after numerous requests added a two day non accommodation package with lunch and refreshments for £150.

Home now and resting. What a super day I have had. It was great meeting up with some fellow crafters. I am happy to say I sold quite a few things only 1 handbag left and half the cushions sold too. I was also very happy to meet some ladies who follow me on this page which was awesome. Also met up with two ladies who have brought bags from me in the past. They had the bags with them so were still in use. So very proud that my bags are lasting and looking so good still. Just wanted to say thankyou to Amber for such a great day. Organisation was spot on.
There might be another craft fair towards the end of the year 🤔 just thinking about Ringstead 😀
