🍂September on the Flower Farm 🍂

The temperature is definitely cooler now, Autumn is days away, and lots of the flowers are slowly going to seed.

In September we are still very busy. Instead of trying to keep everything hydrated and picking thousands of stems each week, we begin to collect the seeds and sow our hardy annuals and perennials for the 2027 season.

Right now is the perfect time to be sowing seeds for the first of next year’s flowers. Which means planning for 2027 is well underway!

I have been sowing Antirrhinum, Ammi Majus & Visnaga, Larkspur and Delphinium, plus lots more.

Thousands of seeds will be sown over the next week or two and then the seedlings are overwintered here in our polytunnels ready to be planted out in early spring.

The Dahlias are at their best right now and are producing armfuls of beautiful blooms.

There isn’t really a quiet period for a Flower Farmer, always some part of the farm to care for, even in the depths of winter.

September is one of my favourite months, the autumnal colours of the flowers and the cooler working conditions, along with seed sowing (my favourite job here) are welcomed after the busy days of summer.

We are excited to announce that The Flower Gallery and Jane’s Garden Flower Farm are joining forces this Christmas to bring you three beautiful days of festive wreath-making at the barn at Jane’s Garden Flower Farm.

Come and spend a few relaxing hours getting into the Christmas spirit, creating your very own unique Christmas wreath to take home and enjoy throughout the festive season.

We will be using a selection of fresh and dried material, as much locally grown foliage as possible, with seasonal berries and other natural elements.

No Christmas workshop would be complete without festive treats. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be provided along with snacks.

All materials and tuition are included, we will guide you through the process step-by-step.

Spaces will be limited for each workshop, so booking early is recommended.

A little reintroduction.

Quite a few of you have recently found your way to my page, hello! I’m Kerri, the person behind Jane’s Garden Flower Farm.

I thought it was time I properly introduced myself, especially after Sarah Sarah 🤍🌿 White Woodland Photography took the time to take these photographs.

Jane’s Garden started after I created a little area in our garden, in memory of my mum Jane. I fell in love with growing flowers and somewhere along the line had the slightly crazy idea that I could have my own business selling seasonal flowers. And here we are today with exactly that!

My days are filled with seeds, mud, weeds, dahlias and buckets of beautiful flowers.

Every flower that you can see in the flower field has been a seed sown by me, or has been grown from tuber or corm here at the flower farm. Sowing seeds is something I do throughout the year and is one of my favourite jobs.

There is something very special about watching a tiny seed become a flower, which is then cut and sold to some truly amazing florists and floral designers. I will never tire of seeing my flowers used in weddings and events at stunning locations around the country.

We have both had so many people ask whether we will be offering Christmas Wreath Workshops this winter, and the answer is yes!

We will be announcing dates in the next few days.

Join us to create your own beautiful Christmas Wreath in the barn, at Jane’s Garden Flower Farm.

We will have a beautiful selection of foliage, berries and decorations to choose from, with as much as possible foraged here on the farm keeping it as locally sourced as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you, at the most wonderful time of the year!

It’s always an absolute joy to put together wedding flowers.

Madeleines vision was very clear, natural & beautiful. Mixed flower buckets, Bride & Bridesmaids bouquets.

Madeleines Nanny & Aunt used the mixed flower buckets to create these beautiful displays, whilst I created the bouquets. They did an amazing job!

Madeleine and her family were a dream to work with. I wish you and your Husband a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations.

Our Posy Bags are ready for delivery to in Rollesby and will be available to buy later this morning.

This week they include some gorgeous Dahlias which are popping up now on the flower farm, and Amaranthus ‘Hot Biscuit’ which is always a favorite!

Only £10 each, for a jar packed with beautiful, British grown blooms. All grown from seeds and Tubers, in West Somerton.

Saturday August 29th - 3 Spaces

We can now also offer an additional PYO Bouquet Workshop on Saturday September 12th!
