🍔 THE ULTIMATE SUMMER BURGER TOPPING! 🧅✨

Looking to level up your summer burgers? We have LOTS of gorgeous red onions in stock right now at Earlham Community Shop—and they are an absolute steal at just 30p A WHOLE BAG!

(We only use 3 or 4 onions for this recipe, which works out to just about 10p worth!)

Pantry Staples (Oil/Butter & Sugar): Approx. 5p per batch.

Total cost to make a big jar of sweet burger topping: Around 15p! 🙌

Here is a super quick, colourful recipe to elevate your next summer cookout.

🍳 Sticky Sweet Caramelised Red Onions
The perfect sweet and savoury topping to pile high on top of juicy summer burgers!

What you need:

3-4 large Red Onions from your 30p bag (sliced thin) 🧅

1 tbsp Oil or Butter

1 tbsp Sugar (brown sugar works best!)

A pinch of salt

Easy Steps:

Sizzle: Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat. Add your sliced red onions and a pinch of salt.

Soften: Cook gently for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to turn soft and translucent.

Sweeten: Sprinkle over the sugar. Turn the heat down low and let them bubble away for another 5–10 minutes until sticky, glossy, and beautifully colorful!

Serve: Pile them hot straight onto your summer burgers, or store them in a clean jar to use all week long.

🌭 Safe Summer Barbecuing

Whether you use charcoal or LPG (gas) canisters, all barbecues produce carbon monoxide while cooking, and they can continue to give off the deadly gas for hours after they’ve been put out.

Never bring a BBQ inside: Keep them completely outdoors. Never use a BBQ inside a house, tent, caravan, or awning even if it’s just to keep food warm or shelter from a sudden summer rain shower.

Check the connections: If you use an LPG gas cylinder, make sure the hoses aren’t cracked and are securely attached. Always change canisters in an open, well ventilated space.

🥭 Massive Mango Delivery at the Earlham Community Shop! 🥭

If you love mangoes, you need to get down to the Earlham Community Shop ASAP! They are fully stocked with fresh, juicy mangoes for just 30p each.

Quick & Easy 3 Ingredient Mango Sorbet

Try this super simple dairy free sorbet.

Ingredients:

3 ripe mangoes (peeled and diced)

1 tablespoon of lime juice

1-2 tablespoons of honey

Instructions:

Freeze: Spread your diced mango pieces on a tray and freeze them for at least 3-4 hours until solid.

Blend: Toss the frozen mango chunks, lime juice, and sweetener into a food processor or blender.

Smooth: Blend on high, stopping to scrape down the sides, until the mixture becomes completely smooth and creamy

Serve: Eat it immediately for a soft texture, or transfer it to a container and freeze for another hour to scoop it like traditional ice cream.
