A few small tweaks and a bit of extra effort can go a hell of a long way when you can see an area is active. Hixxy made a few adjustments to his terminal tackle and screwed a Mulberry Squid pop-up on a low-riding Ronnie, and then he had this beast! (A new personal best at 69.8)

Life can be quite demanding when you live on a canal boat, but one added bonus is that Liam gets to trickle a steady stream of bait on his spots, and he's able to flick his rods out when he's not renovating the barge.

Danny Smith and his two sons just had one hell of a week at Parco, having 43 fish between them, and to top it off, Danny's son is now probably one of only a handful of kids in the UK to have a personal best 72lb mirror in his photo album.

There's a picture with Danny's son struggling to hold the big mirror, and it's the big mirror Danny is holding in the first photo. Several 40s and 50s were among the hit, and the boys were putting the new Hydrolised Plum through its paces, which obviously worked a treat!

We have lots of catch reports to catch up on, as we have had a week of social media while we replenished the stock levels ready for the cooler months.

On a plus note, though, we forgot to mention that the record common from the Manor Lee Dunn had last week at 47lb was his personal best, so this big bucket was more than deserved (but he would have got it either way on my watch after the session the boys had down there last week!).

Ewi Poodt with some serious high-grade from a big low-stock public lake that most would probably overlook. After getting crayed-out in the shallows, Ewi had to switch thing's up and targeted the deeper water (25+ feet deep), so he spread a few 20mm freebies around the area, and deployed a couple of 'juiced up' Fruit Ester pop-ups over the top which was obviously the right decision as it resulted in this rare (and probably uncaught) slab of a common!

Some mornings are better than others, and yesterday was more than memorable when Lee Dunn landed one of the lake’s old guards at a new top weight of 47+, from the Manor - and to make the moment even sweeter, it’s a new lake record common!

Fishing over the lake’s fermenting nut-mix they prepare for all the boys, Lee presented our new Octoplum pop-ups (juiced up to the nines) over the top that made the magic happen.
