Another exciting launch of our Eco to go ranges at St Marys Hospital in Kettering, helping to pioneer the hospitals reusables upgrade by implementing our Eco to Go scheme.

For a one-off payment, hospital staff, patients and visitors can join the Eco to Go scheme and receive a token and a loyalty card. The token is exchanged for a reusable container or cup at the café, to enable members of the scheme to take their food and drink away. The container is returned for washing, in exchange for a token or clean container to go. The loyalty card rewards members for choosing sustainability enabling them to receive a main meal up to a value of £5 after just 10 uses = Great for their pocket & our planet!

Another huge success for FSG quality Reusables, Northampton Healthcare, and most importantly for the environment. Big thanks to Clare and Kate for their help and support.

A fantastic day at The University of Strathclyde's: Shaping the Future of Sustainable Plastics Research Workshop.

Lots of great connections made, with lots of interesting discussions around plastics and reusables.

Great to see our developing partnership with the Doctoral School at Strathclyde šŸ‘

We have definitely started 2024 off with a bang! We are proud to announce that FSG have been awarded an Innovate UK Grant to Research NHS Net Zero Reusable Packaging for patient feeding. Working closely with the University of Strathclyde, we will be looking at behaviour change within the NHS and how we can best implement and further our reusables and systems in healthcare catering. It is a very exciting opportunity for us, and we look forward to getting stuck in šŸ‘šŸ˜„

In 2022, fsg joined the Nextloopp collaboration, to develop food grade recycled polypropylene from post-consumer waste. We are excited to join them on their quest to close the loop in the circularity of polypropylene, where we will pilot their materials in our low impact packaging as part of our commitment to use resources that come from recycled materials and which can, in turn be further recycled.

For more information on Nextloopp and the work they do, please see their website -

Another highlight to look back on🤩

In January 2019, Shrewsbury Cup pioneered the UK’s first community deposit return cup scheme. FSG’s Zero Waste Cup, using Bockatech EcoCore technology, these cups were chosen because they have the best eco credentials in Europe, after just two uses they are more sustainable than single use.

We'd like to announce an outstanding opportunity for us. FSG began their collaboration with Plastic Clever Schools in 2018, where we work together to reduce plastic waste with children at the heart of the action. Plastic Clever Schools look to inspire young people to learn about plastic pollution and take action, investigate any problem plastics within schools and act to ā€˜swap-out’ or eliminate single-use plastics. It is something fsg are extremely passionate about, as we believe children are at the heart of change and can be environmental champions.

Where there is a problem, fsg finds a solution. If that solution exists, we source it. If it doesn’t, we collaborate with partners to make it.

That is why and how ā€˜inspire’ was created, to help individuals maintain their independence and dignity, providing solutions for people with limited mobility and reduced visual perception. We worked closely with healthcare professionals to develop the inspire range of single and double handled cups with extra-large handles and a choice of feeder lids, ideal for people with shaking hands and limited mobility. Made from high heat plastic the cups are lightweight and easy to grip. Our textured tumblers are ideal for people with limited grip, offering independent drinking.

In 2020, our inspire range helped to improve nutrition and hydration at NHS hospitals, as well as up to 40% less food waste.

More information on these products can be found on our website - https://www.fsg.uk.com/inspire

We are delighted to announce a partnership with the University of Strathclyde. Working with the Postgraduate Doctoral School to explore the social dimensions of plastics, with a focus on behaviour change and media messaging. Particularly within the education setting, we hope to encourage the use of reusables within schools and ultimately reduce single-use plastics. We hope to encourage the younger generation to be more pro-environmental and grow up to be environmental warriors.

In 2016, the University of Birmingham (UoB) launched the UK’s first reusable ownership model for FSG Eco Takeout Containers and Eco to go Cups at the University’s Vale Village. Students and staff purchase, keep, wash and carry the containers and receive a free meal/drink after 10 uses, reap the benefits of reusing them on campus.

FSG reusable boxes and cups were chosen by the University for their sustainability credentials which are consistent with UoB’s commitment to reduce their environmental impact whilst maintaining economic viability.

With the help of advertising, we saw great success with FSG Reusables, the university saved 135,625 containers each year from going to landfill and replaced 30% of their disposable cups.
