Spent today on retreat at the beautiful Launde Abbey, stepping away from the noise to simply pause and listen.
During quiet reflection, Isaiah 61 spoke straight to my heart. For anyone who sits with others in their darkest, most tender spaces, those words carry profound weight: to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom, to see beauty rise from ashes, and to witness joy replacing mourning.
It served as such a gentle, grounding reminder of the heart behind the therapeutic space—holding hope alongside someone until they are ready to hold it for themselves. It’s sacred, humbling work.

Don’t try to be perfect, with the perfect life, job, children, wardrobe, image, and anything else. It’s way too stressful.

Working as a counsellor I see the fallout of perfectionism and trying to please others all too often.

Do your best, chill and accept that nothing this side of Heaven is perfect except ✝️
